Targets for Waste Recycling
The government and the Environmental Agency have set new targets to be reached by all recycling agencies. We at Norris West-Yorkshire acknowledge these targets and here they are: The aim of the Environmental Agency is to see to the protection and improvement of the environment in Wales and England. The Environmental Agency does not meet its targets or offer other environmental services to areas that need it all alone, because they partner with several other local authorities and organisations to achieve these goals. The quality of water, air, and land is continuously improved by the Environmental Agency. They control environmental pollution, and also encourage the conservation of animals, plants and other natural resources by implementing certain efforts towards these goals. It gets better! The Environmental Agency is determined to educate the people on anything to do with the environment, improve waste disposal standards, and improve the recycling of household items in order to reduce their quantity. Reach out to the Environmental Agency in your area, or you can call 08708 506 506 to contact their headquarters located in Bristol at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. A landfill order has been issued concerning Government Targets. It states the targets for lowering the quantity of waste taken to landfill spots in the United Kingdom. The targets, as of the most recent year, include: That the amount of waste taken to landfill spots in the UK by 2015 be only 35% of the amount taken in 1995. By 2013, the waste taken to landfill sites around the United Kingdom should be 50% of what was taken in 1995. The waste taken to landfill spots in the UK should be 75% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2010. Furthermore, the following targets were introduced by the Waste Strategy 2000, for waste recovery and to make the landfill directive achievable: 40% of waste as at 2005 should be recovered, 45% of waste should be recovered by 2010, while as of 2015, 67% of waste should be recovered. The Waste Strategy of 2000 contains the natural recycling targets published by the government. The following are the targets: By 2015, 33% of household waste should be composted or recycled. By 2010, 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled. By 2005, 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled, while that of each local authority was 30% as in the same year. The government, in its quest to reduce waste, for landfill diversion, and to assist local authorities in more recycling, has issued a “Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant”. Materials like batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electrical and electronics, vehicles, wood, clinical waste, building materials, and so on, have been listed as recyclable. Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
Skip hire pricing factors need to be well considered before hiring a skip. We at Norris West-Yorkshire understand these skip hire pricing factors, and we have decided to give you a brief explanation of each of them. Regional Pricing – every region has its own skip hire cost. You may get a skip for £50 in London and get the same skip for £20 in West-Yorkshire. How long you want to keep the skip will affect the price of the skip. The longer the period of time you intend to keep it, the more likely you are to pay a higher amount. Taking into consideration that skip hire permits have a time duration. Limitations and Restrictions – every skip can only take a certain amount of weight regardless of their size. You have to find out if there are limitations from your skip hire service provider. Find out what products aren’t allowed in the skip and follow the restrictions, to avoid being sanctioned or fined.
Issues with renting skips in West-Yorkshire
At Norris West-Yorkshire, we understand that getting the perfect skip to hire can be a herculean task – especially with the difficulties that comes with getting a skip hire permit. The following concerns may be attached to skip hiring in West-Yorkshire: local council laws, double yellow lines, small gardens, narrow paths, congestion zones, limited front space, red routes, and pedestrian only lanes. With the rising population in West-Yorkshire, skip hiring will soon be a more challenging feat. Our waste management services are readily available if you wish to skip the whole task of skip hiring.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
The regulation of waste deposits, and the recovery and removal of “controlled waste” is handled by the waste licensing system that was put in place in 1994, replacing the 1974 Control of Pollution Act. Solid or liquid commercial, industrial, and household waste is called controlled waste. The license is not needed by those who only dispose of waste from their personal gardens. In order to have the license, the person applying has to show that they are fit to hold it. Anyone applying to own a new site has to have the Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) certificate, which proves they are “technically competent”.
Those involved in the creation, bringing in, conveyance, storage, treatment or removal of controlled waste have their own duty of care in section 34 of the Act. The following was stated in the Act: “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” Waste disposal methods are regulated by special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005.
Skip Hire Permits
You need a skip hire permit if you want to hire a skip for a construction project and will have to place it on public land. Skip hire permits are required when you intend to use a piece of land you don’t own to place the skip. The land in question may be that of a third party, a street, a government road, or a federal highway. However, if you have a piece of land or property to place the skip in, and you are sure that it won’t intrude on council land or someone else’s property, then you won’t have to get a skip permit. But, if you place a skip in a position that infringes on the privacy of another person not involved in your project, the skip might be removed and seized, or you could even be fined. You can get a skip hire permit for £20, although the skip size and issuing council would also affect the cost. There are also skip hire permits that cost £60, £80, and even as much as £100. Details on skip hire costs can be requested from the local council office. We make it our business at Norris West-Yorkshire to make skip hiring easy for you. So why go through the stress of getting a skip hire permit when we can get it for you, while we deliver the skip you require? We include the cost of getting ski hire permits in our online quotes when you request them, which can be removed if you already have land or a place on which to put the skip. The permits we provide with skip hire services last as long as 14 days. You can reach us now on 020 8698 8000 if you need to know more details on skip hire permits and other waste disposal services.

Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
Recycling targets were created by the Environmental Agency and government some time ago. We at Norris West-Yorkshire acknowledge these targets and here they are: The Environmental Agency is on a mission to make sure the environment in England and Wales is improved and protected. A lot government organisations and local authorities are in place to make sure they reach their targets, and that areas that need environmental services get the ones they have to offer. The aim of the agency is also to make sure the quality of land, air and water gets better constantly. They implement steps that aim to control pollution in the environment, encouraging efforts towards preserving natural resources as well. They don’t stop there either! The body works to educate the general populace on environmental issues to improve waste handling standards, by encouraging more recycling of waste in the household to cut down on overall waste quantity. The Environmental Agency can be contacted on 08708 506 506 or through their office in your locality, or their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. A landfill directive was released to address Government Targets. It states how much the quantity of waste need to be lowered for the purpose of landfills in certain areas of the UK. It further stated that, from 2007, landfills were to only take untreated waste. Beginning from the most recent year, here are the target: In 2015, only 35% of the waste collected for filling UK landfill sites in 1995 should be collected. In 2013, only 50% of the waste collected for filling UK landfill sites in 1995 should be collected. The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used for landfills in the UK by 2010 shouldn’t exceed 75% of what was taken in 1995. In addition to that, the Waste Strategy 2000 introduced the following targets, to recover waste and meet the landfill directive: 67% of the waste must be recovered by 2015, 45% must be recovered by 2010, and 40% must be recovered by 2005.
Waste Strategy 2000 had published in it, by the government, the natural recycling targets, which are as follows:
33% of household waste must be composted or recycled as of 2015. 30% of household waste must be composted or recycled as of 2010. 25% of household waste has to be composted or recycled in 2005, although local authority was 30% in that same year. The government issued a ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” to help local authorities recycle more, reduce waste, and for landfill diversions. A list of materials that can be recycled include: wood, vehicles, composting, clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electricals and electronics, computers, and a few others.
