Environmental Agency Recycling Targets
The Environmental Agency and the government have set recycling targets for some time now. We at Norris Ipswich acknowledge these targets and here they are: The English and Welsh environment is protected and improved upon by the Environmental Agency. The Environmental Agency does not meet its targets or offer other environmental services to areas that need it all alone, because they partner with several other local authorities and organisations to achieve these goals. It is also their mission to raise the quality of water, land, and air constantly. The Environmental Agency encourages the conservation of animals, land, and natural resources, and controls environmental pollution by implementing certain efforts. That’s not all! The agency also puts effort in ensuring that people are up to date in environmental matters, raises waste removal standards and promotes the recycling of household products to significantly reduce the quantity of waste, among other objectives. Get in touch with the Environmental Agency office in your location, or you can find the head office in Bristol Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. Telephone: 08708 506 506. A landfill order has been issued concerning Government Targets. The directive sets out all the targets to be reached, which will see a decrease of the quantity of waste taken to different landfill spots in the United Kingdom. The target is set to take effect from the most recent year and they are: By 2015, the waste taken to landfill sites around the United Kingdom should be 35% of what was taken in 1995. The waste taken to landfill spots in the UK should be 50% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2013. That waste quantity taken to landfill sites be 75% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2010. Furthermore, the following targets were introduced by the Waste Strategy 2000, for waste recovery and to make the landfill directive achievable: 45% of all waste should be recovered by the end of 2010, 67% of waste should be recovered by 2015, while 40% of waste be recovered as of 2005. For the natural recycling targets, you’ll find them published by the government in the Waste Strategy 2000. These targets include: 33% of household waste should be composted or recycled by 2015. The target projects that, as of 2010, 30% of household waste should either be recycled or composted. Composting and recycling should be carried out on 25% of household waste as of 2005, while each local authority was 30% in the same year. The government, in its quest to reduce waste, for landfill diversion, and to assist local authorities in more recycling, has issued a “Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant”. Here is a list of recyclable materials: computers, printer cartridges, glass, oil, electrical and electronics, furniture, batteries, paper, vehicles, clinical waste, metal, and a variety of others. To be up to date on any new entry in the targets, especially in recent years, visit the Norris Ipswich office at Ipswich.

Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
Skip hire pricing factors need to be well considered before hiring a skip. All these factors are well understood by us at Norris Ipswich and we are going to make them clear to you. Regional Pricing – the cost of hiring a skip differs from region to region. A skip priced at £50 in London, for example, may be priced at £20 in Ipswich. Pricing is also influenced by how long you want to keep the skip, the more time you want it, the higher the cost would likely be. Also bearing in mind that skip hire permits only last for a set period of time as well. Limitations and Restrictions – different skip sizes also have different weight limits. You have to find out if there are limitations from your skip hire service provider. Ask if there are any items that aren’t allowed in the skip and stick to the restrictions if there are, so you won’t be sanctioned or fined.
Issues with renting skips in Ipswich
At Norris Ipswich, we understand that getting the perfect skip to hire can be a herculean task – especially with the difficulties that comes with getting a skip hire permit. Issues to be considered when hiring a skip in Ipswich are local council laws, red routes, double yellow lines, narrow paths, congestion zones, small front space, pedestrian only lanes and red routes. We are also aware of the increasing population in Ipswich, which will mean increased difficulty in skip hiring in the near future. However, you can make use of our rubbish removal services, instead of worrying about renting a skip and hustling for a skip hire permit.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
The regulation of waste deposits, and the recovery and removal of “controlled waste” is handled by the waste licensing system that was put in place in 1994, replacing the 1974 Control of Pollution Act. Liquid or solid waste from industrial, commercial, and household processes are called controlled wastes. If you only do personal garden waste removal, however, you do not require the license. Proof of fitness to hold the license determines if it will be granted. “Technical competence” is something an applicant for new site ownership needs to show by having the Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) certificate .
The duty of care for people who manage creating, bringing in, movement, storing, treating and removing controlled waste is specified in section 34 of the act. It stated that “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” Waste disposal regulation is handled by special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005.
Skip Hire Permits
If you’re going to place a skip you hired for a construction project on public land, you need a skip hire permit. In regards to the land or space you would be placing the skip on that isn’t yours, you need a skip hire permit. These lands include federal highways and government roads, third party owned lands, and land along streets. You don’t need a skip hire permit if you have your own land and won’t be intruding on government or third party-owned land. Intruding on another person’s land, privacy or space may get you fined, or the skip may be removed and seized. Getting a skip hire permit can cost as low as £20, based on the skip size and council you have to get the permit from. There are also skip hire permits that cost £60, £80, and even as much as £100. Details on skip hire costs can be requested from the local council office. We want to ensure you have a much easier skip hire process at Norris Ipswich. You don’t need the hassle involved with getting a skip hire permit because we can get it for you as we deliver your choice of skip. We include the cost of getting ski hire permits in our online quotes when you request them, which can be removed if you already have land or a place on which to put the skip. Our skip hire service can come with skip hire permits that are valid for 14 days. We can be reached today on 020 8698 8000 if you want to know more about skip hire permits and other services we have in place for you.

Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
The Environmental Agency and government have been setting recycling targets for some time now. At Norris Ipswich, we acknowledge these set recycling targets and they are as follows: The mission of the Environmental Agency is to ensure the improvement and protection of the environment in England and Wales. There are many government organisations and local authorities that have the duty of making sure these targets are achieved and the services they have available get to the environments that need them. The Environmental Agency also endeavors to make sure land, air and water are constantly improved in terms of quality. They implement steps that aim to control pollution in the environment, encouraging efforts towards preserving natural resources as well. They don’t stop there either! The body works to educate the general populace on environmental issues to improve waste handling standards, by encouraging more recycling of waste in the household to cut down on overall waste quantity. The agency can be contacted on 08 708 506 506, or by their office in your region. You can also visit their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. A landfill directive was released because of Government Targets. It states how much the quantity of waste need to be lowered for the purpose of landfills in certain areas of the UK. It stated also that from 2007, landfills should only accept treated waste. From the most recent year, the targets are the following: In 2015, only 35% of the waste collected for filling UK landfill sites in 1995 should be collected. No more that 50% of the waste retrieved to use for landfill sites in the UK should be retrieved by 2013. The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2010 should be 75% of what was taken in 1995. Also, these targets were introduced by Waste Strategy 2000, for the recovery of waste and achieving the landfill directive: y 2015, 67% of the waste has to be recovered, 45% recovered by 2010, 40% by 2005.
The targets for natural recycling were published in the Waste Strategy 2000 by the government. They include:
By 2015, 33% of household waste should be composted or recycled. 30% of household waste must be composted or recycled as of 2010. 25% of household waste has to be composted or recycled in 2005, although local authority was 30% in that same year. A ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” was issued by the government to assist local authorities in more recycling, reduction of waste, and landfill diversions. The following materials can be recycled: wood, clinical waste, metal, building materials, batteries, paper, printer, cartridges, plastic, electricals and electronics, computers, composting, and various others.
