Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
There a couple of factors that should be taken into consideration when hiring a skip. We understand all of these factors on skip hiring pricing at Norris Market-Drayton, and we have taken it upon ourselves to briefly help you understand as well. Regional Pricing – the cost of hiring a skip differs from region to region. A skip that would cost you £50 in London, for instance, may cost you less in Market-Drayton. The longer you need to hold on to a skip, the more expensive the skip will be, because pricing is affected by time as well. Taking into consideration that skip hire permits have a time duration. Limitations and Restrictions – every skip can only take a certain amount of weight regardless of their size. You need to know about what limitations or restrictions your skip hire service provider may have. Find out what products aren’t allowed in the skip and follow the restrictions, to avoid being sanctioned or fined.
Issues with renting skips in Market-Drayton
At Norris Market-Drayton, we understand that getting the perfect skip to hire can be a herculean task – especially with the difficulties that comes with getting a skip hire permit. Narrow paths, local council laws, small gardens, double yellow lines, red routes, pedestrian only lanes, congestion zones, limited space in front, and narrow paths are the issues which usually come up with skip renting in Market-Drayton. At the rate at which Market-Drayton is growing in population, skip hiring will become more and more difficult. You don’t have to worry about skip hiring and acquiring a permit, we can provide waste disposal services instead.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
In 1994, another waste licensing system replaced the 1974 Control of Pollution Act for “controlled waste” regulation – deposit, recovery and removal. Any industrial, commercial, or household waste in solid or liquid form is referred to as controlled waste. Personal garden waste disposal does not require the use of the license. In order to have the license, the person applying has to show that they are fit to hold it. The Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) certificate is often presented by people applying to own new sites, to show they are “technically competent”.
In section 34 of the act, the duty of care for all those who make, bring in, move, treat, store or remove controlled waste is available. It was stated in the Act that “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” How waste is disposed of is controlled by special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005.
Skip Hire Permits
You need a skip hire permit if you want to hire a skip for a construction project and will have to place it on public land. In regards to the land or space you would be placing the skip on that isn’t yours, you need a skip hire permit. These lands include federal highways and government roads, third party owned lands, and land along streets. If you have land or property you intend to used, you don’t need a skip hire permit, as long as it won’t intrude on land that isn’t yours. If you happen to cross into someone else’s land who isn’t a part of your project, or invade another person’s privacy with the skip, it could be seized or you could be fined. With £20, you can get a skip hire permit, but charges may differ because of the skip size or council who issue the permit. There are also skip hire permits that cost £60, £80, and even as much as £100. Details on skip hire costs can be requested from the local council office. However, it’s our duty at Norris Market-Drayton to make your skip hire a smooth process. We also provide skip hire permit procurement along with skip delivery to make the whole process stress free. The cost of getting a skip hire permit is often added to the online quote you request , although this won’t matter if you have space or land for keeping the skip. We provide skip hire services along with permits that last for up to 14 days. We are always available on 020 8698 8000 to provide you with details on skip hire and other waste disposal services we have.

Whether you require a closed skip or an open one, you can count on us to deliver it with proof of its efficiency and quality. Call us today on 020 8698 8000 if you have any concerns, and our experts will answer your questions. Another option is to come by our Market-Drayton office and we will provide the tested skip you want with certificate.
At Norris Market-Drayton, we allow a large variety of waste to be put in our skips. However, we have restrictions on the kind of items that can go in our skips. We can just take them and get them treated for you – depending on how safe those materials are. Medical waste, gas canisters, air conditioning units, heavy duty batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, television sets, refrigerators, and aerosols are prohibited from being in our skips.
Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
Recycling targets were created by the Environmental Agency and government some time ago. We uphold these set recycling rules at Norris Market-Drayton and you can find them below: The mission of the Environmental Agency is to ensure the improvement and protection of the environment in England and Wales. Many government organisations and local authorities are in place to ensure recycling targets are met, and that areas needing environmental services receive the services they have available. The aim of the agency is also to make sure the quality of land, air and water gets better constantly. They set up systems to regulate environmental pollution, and also promote the preservation of plants, animals and other natural resources. It doesn’t end there! The body educates the public on environmental matters, like better waste removal standards, by promoting the recycling of household waste to reduce how much waste they have. You can reach the Environmental agency at their office in your region, their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD, or call them on 08 708 506 506. With respect to Government Targets, a landfill directive was released. It specifies the targets needed to lower the quantity of waste removed to landfill areas in the UK. It further stated that, from 2007, landfills were to only take untreated waste. Find the targets below, starting from the most recent year: The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used in landfills in the UK by 2015 shouldn’t exceed 35% of what was taken in 1995. Only 50% of the waste taken in 1995 should be taken for landfill sites in the UK in 2013. Only 75% of the waste taken in 1995 should be taken for landfill sites in the UK in 2010. The Waste Strategy 2000 included the following targets, as a way of making sure waste is recovered and the landfill directive is reached: Of all the waste, 67% should be recovered in 2015, 45% of it recovered in 2010, and 40% of it recovered in 2005.
The targets for natural recycling were published in the Waste Strategy 2000 by the government. They include:
By 2015, 33% of household waste should be composted or recycled. 30% of household waste has to be composted or recycled in 2010. 25% of household waste must be composted or recycled as of 2005, even though local authorities had a 30% target in the same year. The government issued a ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” to help local authorities recycle more, reduce waste, and for landfill diversions. The following materials can be recycled: wood, clinical waste, metal, building materials, batteries, paper, printer, cartridges, plastic, electricals and electronics, computers, composting, and various others.
