Environmental Agency Recycling Targets
For some time now, the government and the Environmental Agency have set certain recycling targets. Norris Henley-on-Thames experts recognize these targets, which are: The agency charged with protecting and improving the English and Welsh environment is the Environmental Agency. Several other local authorities and organisations work with the Environmental Agency to achieve its aims, and to provide other environmental services to areas in need of it. The Environmental Agency also strives to improve the quality of water, land, and air continuously. They implement efforts to control environmental pollution, and further encourage the conservation of plants, animals, and other natural resources. That’s not all! Among other things, the body enlightens the general populace on environmental issues, promotes the recycling of household products to decrease their piling up in large quantities, and educates on raising the standards of waste removal. Call 08708 506 506 to connect to the head office of the Environmental Agency, located in Bristol at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD or just visit their office in your region. Government Targets already have a landfill directive issued to this effect. It states the targets for lowering the quantity of waste taken to landfill spots in the United Kingdom. The targets, as of the most recent year, include: The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2015 should be 35% of what was taken in 1995. That the amount of waste taken to landfill spots in the UK by 2013 be only 50% of the amount taken in 1995. The waste taken to landfill spots in the UK should be 75% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2010. The following targets were also introduced by the Waste Strategy of 2000 to recover waste and help in achieving the landfill directive: 45% of all waste should be recovered by the end of 2010, 67% of waste should be recovered by 2015, while 40% of waste be recovered as of 2005. The natural recycling targets were published in the Waste Strategy 2000 by the government. Here are the targets: Composting and recycling should be carried out on 33% of household waste as of 2015. The target projects that, as of 2010, 30% of household waste should either be recycled or composted. By the year 2005, 25% of household waste should either be recycled or it should be composted and 30% was set for each local authority in 2005. The government has issued a grant to help local authorities in more recycling, reducing waste, and for landfill diversion, known as the ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant”. Recyclable materials were listed, which include: wood, vehicles, clinical waste, building materials, composting, printer cartridges, batteries, paper, computers, plastic, glass, furniture, oil, metal, electronic and electricals, and so on. Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
There a couple of factors that should be taken into consideration when hiring a skip. We understand all of these factors on skip hiring pricing at Norris Henley-on-Thames, and we have taken it upon ourselves to briefly help you understand as well. Regional Pricing – skip hire costs are different in each region. A skip that would cost you £50 in London, for instance, may cost you less in Henley-on-Thames. How long you want to keep the skip will affect the price of the skip. The longer the period of time you intend to keep it, the more likely you are to pay a higher amount. Also bearing in mind that skip hire permits only last for a set period of time as well. Limitations and Restrictions – different skip sizes also have different weight limits. You have to find out if there are limitations from your skip hire service provider. You may get fined or sanctioned if you put products in the skip that are not allowed, which is why you need to find out if there are any such products.
Issues with renting skips in Henley-on-Thames
We know at Norris Henley-on-Thames that hiring the right skip can be exhausting- more so if it involves getting a skip hire permit. Narrow paths, local council laws, small gardens, double yellow lines, red routes, pedestrian only lanes, congestion zones, limited space in front, and narrow paths are the issues which usually come up with skip renting in Henley-on-Thames. We are also aware of the increasing population in Henley-on-Thames, which will mean increased difficulty in skip hiring in the near future. However, you can make use of our rubbish removal services, instead of worrying about renting a skip and hustling for a skip hire permit.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
The regulation of waste deposits, and the recovery and removal of “controlled waste” is handled by the waste licensing system that was put in place in 1994, replacing the 1974 Control of Pollution Act. Liquid or solid waste from industrial, commercial, and household processes are called controlled wastes. If you only do personal garden waste removal, however, you do not require the license. Proof of fitness to hold the license determines if it will be granted. The Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) certificate is often presented by people applying to own new sites, to show they are “technically competent”.
Section 34 of the act includes the duty of care for people who are part of creating, bringing in, conveying, storing, treating, and removing controlled waste. The following was stated in the Act: “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” How waste is disposed of is controlled by special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005.
Skip Hire Permits
You need a skip hire permit if you want to hire a skip for a construction project and will have to place it on public land. Using land that is not yours to place the skip means you must have a skip hire permit. The land in question may be that of a third party, a street, a government road, or a federal highway. You can use your own land or space without a skip hire permit if you have it, only ensuring you don’t cross into land that isn’t yours. If you happen to cross into someone else’s land who isn’t a part of your project, or invade another person’s privacy with the skip, it could be seized or you could be fined. With £20, you can get a skip hire permit, but charges may differ because of the skip size or council who issue the permit. There are skip hire permits that may cost as much as £60, £80, and up to £100 sometimes. You can contact the council office to find out more about the pricing if you wish. However, it’s our duty at Norris Henley-on-Thames to make your skip hire a smooth process. We also provide skip hire permit procurement along with skip delivery to make the whole process stress free. The cost of getting a skip hire permit is often added to the online quote you request , although this won’t matter if you have space or land for keeping the skip. We provide skip hire services along with permits that last for up to 14 days. Call us today on 020 8698 8000 and we will provide you with any details you might need on our skip hire permits and waste management services.

It is not unusual for you to be nervous about how safe and effective it will be to use a skip if you’re hiring for the first time. At Norris Henley-on-Thames, we make sure you get the skip size you want, and make sure they are tested with certificates. Therefore, if you need a closed or open skip, you can rely on us to make it available to you with proof of efficiency and quality. Call us today on 020 8698 8000 and our experts will be available to answer all your queries. Another option is to come by our Henley-on-Thames office and we will provide the tested skip you want with certificate.
At Norris Henley-on-Thames, we allow a large variety of waste to be put in our skips. However, we have restrictions on the kind of items that can go in our skips. We can just take them and get them treated for you – depending on how safe those materials are. The prohibited items include medical waste, automotive oils and fluids, car tyres, plasterboard, gas canisters, aerosols, television sets, air conditioning units, refrigerators, heavy duty batteries, and fluorescent light bulbs.
Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
The Environmental Agency and government have been setting recycling targets for some time now. We uphold these set recycling rules at Norris Henley-on-Thames and you can find them below: The mission of the Environmental Agency is to ensure the improvement and protection of the environment in England and Wales. Many government organisations and local authorities are in place to ensure recycling targets are met, and that areas needing environmental services receive the services they have available. This agency also works to regularly improve the quality of water, land and air. They have efforts in place for environmental pollution control and to encourage the conservation of nature. They don’t stop there either! The body works to educate the general populace on environmental issues to improve waste handling standards, by encouraging more recycling of waste in the household to cut down on overall waste quantity. You can contact the Environmental Agency office in your region, or visit the head office in Bristol at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. Telephone: 08708 506 506. With respect to Government Targets, a landfill directive was released. It states that targets for lowering the quantity of waste taken to landfill spots in the United Kingdom. It stated also that from 2007, landfills should only accept treated waste. From the most recent year, the targets are the following: No more that 35% of the waste retrieved to use for landfill sites in the UK should be retrieved by 2015. The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2013 should be 50% of what was taken in 1995. The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2010 should be 75% of what was taken in 1995. Also, these targets were introduced by Waste Strategy 2000, for the recovery of waste and achieving the landfill directive: y 2015, 67% of the waste has to be recovered, 45% recovered by 2010, 40% by 2005.
Waste Strategy 2000 had published in it, by the government, the natural recycling targets, which are as follows:
33% of household waste must be composted or recycled as of 2015. 30% of household waste has to be composted or recycled in 2010. Household waste that is composted or recycled, in 2015, should be 25%, while the local authorities had a 30% target. A ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” was set up by the government to move the efforts of the local authorities towards more recycling and reduction of waste, and for landfill diversion. Wood, vehicles, composting, clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electricals and electronics, computers, and more are recyclable.
