Government Issued Recycling Targets
All waste management agencies now have some recycling targets to meet, which are set by the Environmental Agency and the government. We acknowledge these targets which include: The agency charged with protecting and improving the English and Welsh environment is the Environmental Agency. The Environmental Agency does not meet its targets or offer other environmental services to areas that need it all alone, because they partner with several other local authorities and organisations to achieve these goals. The quality of water, air, and land is continuously improved by the Environmental Agency. They control environmental pollution, and also encourage the conservation of animals, plants and other natural resources by implementing certain efforts towards these goals. There are still other things! The agency also puts effort in ensuring that people are up to date in environmental matters, raises waste removal standards and promotes the recycling of household products to significantly reduce the quantity of waste, among other objectives. You can contact the Environmental Agency office in your region, or visit the head office in Bristol at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. Telephone: 08708 506 506. A landfill order has been issued concerning Government Targets. The directive released contains government targets aimed at reducing the amount of waste taken to landfill spots in the UK. Starting from the most recent year, these are the targets: That the amount of waste taken to landfill spots in the UK by 2015 be only 35% of the amount taken in 1995. That the amount of waste taken to landfill spots in the UK by 2013 be only 50% of the amount taken in 1995. By 2010, the waste taken to landfill sites around the United Kingdom should be 75% of what was taken in 1995. The Waste Strategy of 2000 introduced the following targets to aid waste recovery and to make the landfill directive achievable: As at 2015, 67% of waste should be recovered, 45% of waste should be recovered as of 2010, while 40% of waste should be recovered as of 2005. The government published the natural recycling targets by the Waste Strategy 2000. Here are the targets: Composting and recycling should be carried out on 33% of household waste as of 2015. 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled by 2010. By the year 2005, 25% of household waste should either be recycled or it should be composted and 30% was set for each local authority in 2005. The government has issued a grant to help local authorities in more recycling, reducing waste, and for landfill diversion, known as the ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant”. Here is a list of recyclable materials: computers, printer cartridges, glass, oil, electrical and electronics, furniture, batteries, paper, vehicles, clinical waste, metal, and a variety of others. Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
When hiring a skip, some factors will be important and need to be thought about and considered properly. We understand all of these factors on skip hiring pricing at Norris Oxfordshire, and we have taken it upon ourselves to briefly help you understand as well. Regional Pricing – every region has its own skip hire cost. You might get a skip at £50 in London, for instance, and get the same skip size for £20 in Oxfordshire. Pricing is also influenced by how long you want to keep the skip, the more time you want it, the higher the cost would likely be. Keeping in mind there are time limits on skip hire permits too. Limitations and Restrictions – every skip can only take a certain amount of weight regardless of their size. Make enquiries from your service provider on the limitations they might have. Also, make enquiries about products that shouldn’t be put in it. Obey these restrictions to avoid any sanctions or fines.
Issues with renting skips in Oxfordshire
We know at Norris Oxfordshire that hiring the right skip can be exhausting- more so if it involves getting a skip hire permit. Narrow paths, local council laws, small gardens, double yellow lines, red routes, pedestrian only lanes, congestion zones, limited space in front, and narrow paths are the issues which usually come up with skip renting in Oxfordshire. At the rate at which Oxfordshire is growing in population, skip hiring will become more and more difficult. Alternative to kip hiring and getting a hire permit, our waste disposal services are available for your use.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
A new waste licensing system was put in place in 1994 to replace the Control of Pollution Act of 1974 on the regulation of deposits, recovery, and removal of “controlled waste”. Solid or liquid commercial, industrial, and household waste is called controlled waste. Personal garden waste disposal does not require the use of the license. Anyone applying for the license has to show proof that they can handle it. If an applicant wishes to own a new site, they have to show how “technically competent” they are by possessing the (WAMITAB) certificate, this is the the Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board.
Those involved in the creation, bringing in, conveyance, storage, treatment or removal of controlled waste have their own duty of care in section 34 of the Act. It stated that “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” There are also the special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005, that regulates how waste should be disposed of.
Skip Hire Permits
You need a skip hire permit if you want to hire a skip for a construction project and will have to place it on public land. Skip hire permits are necessary for situations where you need to place a skip on a piece of land or in a space that isn’t yours. Federal highways, streets, government roads, and land owned by any third party are those that require skip hire permits. If you have land or property you intend to used, you don’t need a skip hire permit, as long as it won’t intrude on land that isn’t yours. Your skip could be removed and seized, however, if it extends into land that isn’t yours or that of those involved in your project, you even be fined. Depending on your location and the size of the skip involved, £20 should be able to get you a skip hire permit. There are also skip hire permits that cost £60, £80, and even as much as £100. The local council office can provide you with the specifics you need on pricing. We make it our business at Norris Oxfordshire to make skip hiring easy for you. Why bother then with getting a skip hire permit when we can get it done for you, along with delivering the skip you hire? When you request an online quote, we include the cost of getting a permit, which will not be necessary if you have land of your own to place the skip in. The permits we provide with skip hire services last as long as 14 days. You can reach us now on 020 8698 8000 if you need to know more details on skip hire permits and other waste disposal services.

Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
A number of targets for recycling were set by the Environmental Agency and government. At Norris Oxfordshire, we acknowledge these set recycling targets and they are as follows: The goal of the Environmental Agency is to secure the protection and improvement of the environment in England and Wales. A lot government organisations and local authorities are in place to make sure they reach their targets, and that areas that need environmental services get the ones they have to offer. This agency also works to regularly improve the quality of water, land and air. They implement steps that aim to control pollution in the environment, encouraging efforts towards preserving natural resources as well. That’s not all! The body also enlightens the general populace on issues regarding the environment, improving waste removal standards, encouraging the recycling of household products to reduce the quantity of waste, and lots more. You can reach the Environmental agency at their office in your region, their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD, or call them on 08 708 506 506. To handle Government Targets, a landfill directive was issued. The amount of waste that requires a reduction for landfilling purposes in the UK is specified. It stated also that from 2007, landfills should only accept treated waste. Beginning from the most recent year, here are the target: In 2015, only 35% of the waste collected for filling UK landfill sites in 1995 should be collected. No more that 50% of the waste retrieved to use for landfill sites in the UK should be retrieved by 2013. The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used for landfills in the UK by 2010 shouldn’t exceed 75% of what was taken in 1995. In addition to that, the Waste Strategy 2000 introduced the following targets, to recover waste and meet the landfill directive: 67% of the waste must be recovered by 2015, 45% must be recovered by 2010, and 40% must be recovered by 2005.
The natural recycling targets were published in the Waste Strategy 2000 by the government. These targets were:
By 2015, 33% of household waste should be composted or recycled. 30% of household waste has to be composted or recycled in 2010. By 2005, 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled – while that of each local authority was 30% as of the same year. The government issued a ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” to help local authorities recycle more, reduce waste, and for landfill diversions. A list of materials that can be recycled include: wood, vehicles, composting, clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electricals and electronics, computers, and a few others.
