All waste management agencies now have some recycling targets to meet, which are set by the Environmental Agency and the government. We at Great-Yarmouth work towards the following government set targets: The agency charged with protecting and improving the English and Welsh environment is the Environmental Agency. There are several government organisations and local authorities they work with to ensure that their targets are met, and that other environmental services they have to offer get to the areas where they are needed. The quality of water, air, and land is continuously improved by the Environmental Agency. The agency strives to control environmental pollution and promote the conservation of animals, land, and natural resources. There are still other things! Among other things, the body enlightens the general populace on environmental issues, promotes the recycling of household products to decrease their piling up in large quantities, and educates on raising the standards of waste removal. With the telephone number – 08708 506 506, you can contact the Environmental Agency head office in Bristol at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD, or contact their office in your region. Concerning the targets set by the government, they have released a directive. It reflects the goals of reducing the quantity of waste sent to landfill spots in the country. Taking effect from the most recent year, the targets include: The waste taken to landfill spots in the UK should be 35% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2015. The waste taken to landfill spots in the UK should be 50% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2013. By 2010, the waste taken to landfill sites around the United Kingdom should be 75% of what was taken in 1995. To help make the landfill directive achievable and recover waste, the following targets were also introduced by the Waste Strategy 2000: 40% of waste as at 2005 should be recovered, 45% of waste should be recovered by 2010, while as of 2015, 67% of waste should be recovered. The natural recycling targets were published in the Waste Strategy 2000 by the government. These targets include: 33% of household waste should be composted or recycled by 2015. Composting and recycling should be carried out on 30% of household waste as at 2010. By the year 2005, 25% of household waste should either be recycled or it should be composted and 30% was set for each local authority in 2005. Local authorities can now be assisted to do more recycling through the government issued “Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” which will also help reduce waste and landfill diversion. Clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electrical and electronics, vehicles, wood, clinical waste, and so on, and a few others were included in the list of products to be recycled. To keep yourself updated on any of the latest additions to the targets, especially for the upcoming years, you can visit the Norris Great-Yarmouth office at Great-Yarmouth.

Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
A number of factors matter and have to be looked into when you want to hire a skip. All these factors are well understood by us at Norris Great-Yarmouth, and we are going to briefly help you understand as well. Regional Pricing – skip hire costs are different in each region. You may get a skip for £50 in London and get the same skip for £20 in Great-Yarmouth. The longer you need to hold on to a skip, the more expensive the skip will be, because pricing is affected by time as well. Keeping in mind there are time limits on skip hire permits too. Limitations and Restrictions – different skip sizes also have different weight limits. Ask your skip hire service provider if they have restrictions on their skips. Some items are prohibited from being put in the skips, find out what they are, and obey the restrictions so you don’t get a fine or sanction.
Issues with renting skips in Great-Yarmouth
At Norris Great-Yarmouth, we understand that getting the perfect skip to hire can be a herculean task – especially with the difficulties that comes with getting a skip hire permit. Narrow paths, local council laws, small gardens, double yellow lines, red routes, pedestrian only lanes, congestion zones, limited space in front, and narrow paths are the issues which usually come up with skip renting in Great-Yarmouth. We are also aware of the increasing population in Great-Yarmouth, which will mean increased difficulty in skip hiring in the near future. However, you can make use of our rubbish removal services, instead of worrying about renting a skip and hustling for a skip hire permit.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
The Control of Pollution Act of 1974 was replaced by a new waste licensing system in 1994 to regulate the deposit, recovery, and removal of “controlled waste”. Any industrial, commercial, or household waste in solid or liquid form is referred to as controlled waste. People who only do waste disposals from personal gardens were not included in getting the license. Proof of fitness to hold the license determines if it will be granted. The Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) certificate is often presented by people applying to own new sites, to show they are “technically competent”.
In section 34 of the act, the duty of care for all those who make, bring in, move, treat, store or remove controlled waste is available. It was stated in the Act that “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” There are also the special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005, that regulates how waste should be disposed of.
Skip Hire Permits
You need a skip hire permit if you want to hire a skip for a construction project and will have to place it on public land. Using land that is not yours to place the skip means you must have a skip hire permit. The land in question may be that of a third party, a street, a government road, or a federal highway. You don’t need a skip hire permit if you have your own land and won’t be intruding on government or third party-owned land. Your skip could be removed and seized, however, if it extends into land that isn’t yours or that of those involved in your project, you even be fined. Getting a skip hire permit can cost as low as £20, based on the skip size and council you have to get the permit from. There are skip hire permits that may cost as much as £60, £80, and up to £100 sometimes. Details on skip hire costs can be requested from the local council office. We make it our business at Norris Great-Yarmouth to make skip hiring easy for you. You don’t need the hassle involved with getting a skip hire permit because we can get it for you as we deliver your choice of skip. We include the cost of getting ski hire permits in our online quotes when you request them, which can be removed if you already have land or a place on which to put the skip. We can get skip hire services along with permits that have up to 14 day validity. Call us today on 020 8698 8000 and we will provide you with any details you might need on our skip hire permits and waste management services.

Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
The Environmental Agency and government have been setting recycling targets for some time now. We uphold these set recycling rules at Norris Great-Yarmouth and you can find them below: The aim of the Environmental Agency is to see to the improvement and protection of the environment in England and Wales. There are many government organisations and local authorities that have the duty of making sure these targets are achieved and the services they have available get to the environments that need them. The Environmental Agency also strives to improve the quality of water, land, and air continuously. They set up systems to regulate environmental pollution, and also promote the preservation of plants, animals and other natural resources. It doesn’t stop at that! They also provide enlightenment for people on better waste control methods such as recycling household waste. You can reach the Environmental agency at their office in your region, their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD, or call them on 08 708 506 506. A landfill directive was released to address Government Targets. It states that targets for lowering the quantity of waste taken to landfill spots in the United Kingdom. It also added, from 2007, that landfills shouldn’t take waste that hasn’t been treated. From the most recent year, the targets are the following: The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2015 should be 35% of what was taken in 1995. No more that 50% of the waste retrieved to use for landfill sites in the UK should be retrieved by 2013. Only 75% of the waste taken in 1995 should be taken for landfill sites in the UK in 2010. The Waste Strategy 2000 included the following targets, as a way of making sure waste is recovered and the landfill directive is reached: Of all the waste, 67% should be recovered in 2015, 45% of it recovered in 2010, and 40% of it recovered in 2005.
Waste Strategy 2000 had published in it, by the government, the natural recycling targets, which are as follows:
33% of household waste must be composted or recycled as of 2015. By 2010, 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled. 25% of household waste must be composted or recycled as of 2005, even though local authorities had a 30% target in the same year. A ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” was set up by the government to move the efforts of the local authorities towards more recycling and reduction of waste, and for landfill diversion. The following materials can be recycled: wood, clinical waste, metal, building materials, batteries, paper, printer, cartridges, plastic, electricals and electronics, computers, composting, and various others.
