They ensure that their targets are met while also offering other environmental services to areas that need them, by working with several other government organisations and local authorities. They control environmental pollution, and also encourage the conservation of animals, plants and other natural resources by implementing certain efforts towards these goals. It doesn’t end there! They also educate people on issues that are related to the environment, promote household product recycling to reduce its quantity, better waste disposal standards, and so on. A landfill directive has been released in relation to Government Targets. It reflects the goals of reducing the quantity of waste sent to landfill spots in the country. Starting from the most recent year, these are the targets: The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2015 should be 35% of what was taken in 1995. That the amount of waste taken to landfill spots in the UK by 2013 be only 50% of the amount taken in 1995. By 2010, the waste taken to landfill sites around the United Kingdom should be 75% of what was taken in 1995. Also, some targets were introduced for waste recovery, and to help make the landfill directive achievable by the Waste Strategy 2000: As at 2015, 67% of waste should be recovered, 45% of waste should be recovered as of 2010, while 40% of waste should be recovered as of 2005. For the natural recycling targets, you’ll find them published by the government in the Waste Strategy 2000. These targets include: The target projects that, as of 2015, 33% of household waste should either be recycled or composted. 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled by 2010. By 2005, 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled, while that of each local authority was 30% as in the same year. The government, in its quest to reduce waste, for landfill diversion, and to assist local authorities in more recycling, has issued a “Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant”. Clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electrical and electronics, vehicles, wood, clinical waste, and so on, and a few others were included in the list of products to be recycled. Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
Some factors are important to look into when hiring a skip. All these factors are well understood by us at Norris Cromer, and we are going to briefly help you understand as well. Regional Pricing – every region has its own skip hire cost. If you get a skip for £50 in London, for example, the same size might cost you just £20 in Cromer. Time duration on the hire is another factor that affects pricing, when you want to keep a skip for a long period of time, you’ll have to pay more. Keeping in mind there are time limits on skip hire permits too. Limitations and Restrictions – you can’t always put a huge amount of weight in a skip just because it looks big. You need to know about what limitations or restrictions your skip hire service provider may have. You may get fined or sanctioned if you put products in the skip that are not allowed, which is why you need to find out if there are any such products.
Issues with renting skips in Cromer
We know at Norris Cromer that hiring the right skip can be exhausting- more so if it involves getting a skip hire permit. Renting a skip in Cromer may come with issues such as local council laws, pedestrian only lanes, narrow paths, red routes, small parking space, congestion zones, small gardens, and double yellow lines. At the rate at which Cromer is growing in population, skip hiring will become more and more difficult. Alternative to kip hiring and getting a hire permit, our waste disposal services are available for your use.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
The regulation of waste deposits, and the recovery and removal of “controlled waste” is handled by the waste licensing system that was put in place in 1994, replacing the 1974 Control of Pollution Act. Controlled waste refers to liquid or solid industrial, commercial, and household wastes. If you only do personal garden waste removal, however, you do not require the license. In order to have the license, the person applying has to show that they are fit to hold it. If an applicant wishes to own a new site, they have to show how “technically competent” they are by possessing the (WAMITAB) certificate, this is the the Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board.
Those involved in the creation, bringing in, conveyance, storage, treatment or removal of controlled waste have their own duty of care in section 34 of the Act. According to the Act, “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” How waste is disposed of is controlled by special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005.
Skip Hire Permits
You need a skip hire permit if you want to hire a skip for a construction project and will have to place it on public land. Skip hire permits are required when you intend to use a piece of land you don’t own to place the skip. It could be land that belongs to a third party, a federal highway, government road, or along the street. However, if you have a piece of land or property to place the skip in, and you are sure that it won’t intrude on council land or someone else’s property, then you won’t have to get a skip permit. Your skip could be removed and seized, however, if it extends into land that isn’t yours or that of those involved in your project, you even be fined. For as low as £20 you can get a skip hire permit – depending on the size of the skip and the council that is issuing the permit to you at the time. There are skip hire permits that may cost as much as £60, £80, and up to £100 sometimes. The council office is a good place to get all the pricing details you need. We make it our business at Norris Cromer to make skip hiring easy for you. You don’t need the hassle involved with getting a skip hire permit because we can get it for you as we deliver your choice of skip. Request an online quote and we will include the cost of getting a skip hire permit, which would be excluded, of course, if you have property to use. The permits we have available alongside our skip hire services can serve for up to 14 days. Call us today on 020 8698 8000 and we will provide you with any details you might need on our skip hire permits and waste management services.

Closed skip or open skip, we can deliver whichever you want with proof of its efficiency and quality. Call us today on 020 8698 8000 and our experts will be available to answer all your queries. We can provide you with treatment services for materials like that, depending on how safe they are. The prohibited items include medical waste, automotive oils and fluids, car tyres, plasterboard, gas canisters, aerosols, television sets, air conditioning units, refrigerators, heavy duty batteries, and fluorescent light bulbs.
Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
The Environmental Agency and government have been setting recycling targets for some time now. We uphold these set recycling rules at Norris Cromer and you can find them below: The Environmental Agency is on a mission to make sure the environment in England and Wales is improved and protected. A lot government organisations and local authorities are in place to make sure they reach their targets, and that areas that need environmental services get the ones they have to offer. The Environmental Agency also endeavors to make sure land, air and water are constantly improved in terms of quality. They set up systems to regulate environmental pollution, and also promote the preservation of plants, animals and other natural resources. That’s not all! The body also enlightens the general populace on issues regarding the environment, improving waste removal standards, encouraging the recycling of household products to reduce the quantity of waste, and lots more. The agency can be contacted on 08 708 506 506, or by their office in your region. You can also visit their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. A landfill directive was released to address Government Targets. It gives a recommended target on how much the amount of waste needs to be reduced for landfilling spots in the United Kingdom. It added as well that landfills from 2007 should only take waste that has been treated. The targets are as follows from the most recent year: The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2015 should be 35% of what was taken in 1995. The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used for landfills in the UK by 2013 shouldn’t exceed 50% of what was taken in 1995. In 2010, only 75% of the waste collected for filling UK landfill sites in 1995 should be collected. The Waste Strategy 2000 included the following targets, as a way of making sure waste is recovered and the landfill directive is reached: Of all the waste, 67% should be recovered in 2015, 45% of it recovered in 2010, and 40% of it recovered in 2005.
Natural recycling targets were published by the government in Waste Strategy 2000 and are:
No less than 33% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2015. No less than 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2010. By 2005, 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled – while that of each local authority was 30% as of the same year. The government released a ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” to assist in the recycling and reduction of waste and landfill diversions. Wood, vehicles, composting, clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electricals and electronics, computers, and more are recyclable.
