Waste Recycling Targets
For some time now, the government and the Environmental Agency have set certain recycling targets. Norris Limehouse recognizes these targets and they are: The English and Welsh environment is protected and improved upon by the Environmental Agency. The Environmental Agency does not meet its targets or offer other environmental services to areas that need it all alone, because they partner with several other local authorities and organisations to achieve these goals. It is also their mission to raise the quality of water, land, and air constantly. They control environmental pollution, and also encourage the conservation of animals, plants and other natural resources by implementing certain efforts towards these goals. There is more! Among other things, the body enlightens the general populace on environmental issues, promotes the recycling of household products to decrease their piling up in large quantities, and educates on raising the standards of waste removal. You can contact the Environmental Agency office in your region, or visit the head office in Bristol at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. Telephone: 08708 506 506. A landfill order has been issued concerning Government Targets. The directive released contains government targets aimed at reducing the amount of waste taken to landfill spots in the UK. The targets, as of the most recent year, include: Waste quantity taken to landfill sites should be 35% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2015. The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2013 should be 50% of what was taken in 1995. The waste taken to landfill spots in the UK should be 75% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2010. Also, some targets were introduced for waste recovery, and to help make the landfill directive achievable by the Waste Strategy 2000: 40% of waste as at 2005 should be recovered, 45% of waste should be recovered by 2010, while as of 2015, 67% of waste should be recovered. For the natural recycling targets, you’ll find them published by the government in the Waste Strategy 2000. The following are the targets: By the year 2015, 33% of household waste should either be recycled or it should be composted. By 2010, 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled. 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled, and local authorities were set at 30% both by 2005. A ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” was issued by the government to assist local authorities in more recycling, reduction of waste, and for landfill diversions. Clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electrical and electronics, vehicles, wood, clinical waste, and so on, and a few others were included in the list of products to be recycled. If you want to keep yourself abreast of new additions to the targets, especially in recent years, contact us at Norris Limehouse office at Limehouse.

Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
Some factors are important to look into when hiring a skip. All these factors are well understood by us at Norris Limehouse, and we are going to briefly help you understand as well. Regional Pricing – hiring a skip will cost something different in different regions. You might get a skip at £50 in London, for instance, and get the same skip size for £20 in Limehouse. The length of time you want the skip for will also affect its pricing; the longer you want it for, the higher the cost. Keeping in mind there are time limits on skip hire permits too. Limitations and Restrictions – different skip sizes also have different weight limits. You need to know about what limitations or restrictions your skip hire service provider may have. Some items are prohibited from being put in the skips, find out what they are, and obey the restrictions so you don’t get a fine or sanction.
Issues with renting skips in Limehouse
Skip hire is not always easy, you have to get the right one, and there’s more stress if you need a permit- we know all of this at Norris Limehouse. Narrow paths, local council laws, small gardens, double yellow lines, red routes, pedestrian only lanes, congestion zones, limited space in front, and narrow paths are the issues which usually come up with skip renting in Limehouse. We are also aware of the increasing population in Limehouse, which will mean increased difficulty in skip hiring in the near future. However, you can make use of our rubbish removal services, instead of worrying about renting a skip and hustling for a skip hire permit.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
In 1994, another waste licensing system replaced the 1974 Control of Pollution Act for “controlled waste” regulation – deposit, recovery and removal. Solid or liquid commercial, industrial, and household waste is called controlled waste. People who only do waste disposals from personal gardens were not included in getting the license. Proof of fitness to hold the license determines if it will be granted. The Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) certificate is often presented by people applying to own new sites, to show they are “technically competent”.
The duty of care for people who manage creating, bringing in, movement, storing, treating and removing controlled waste is specified in section 34 of the act. It was stated in the Act that “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” The special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005 are in charge of controlling the way waste is disposed.
Skip Hire Permits
You need a skip hire permit if you want to hire a skip for a construction project and will have to place it on public land. In regards to the land or space you would be placing the skip on that isn’t yours, you need a skip hire permit. This land could be a federal highway, government road, a street, or could be owned by a third party. However, if you have a piece of land or property to place the skip in, and you are sure that it won’t intrude on council land or someone else’s property, then you won’t have to get a skip permit. Your skip could be removed and seized, however, if it extends into land that isn’t yours or that of those involved in your project, you even be fined. Getting a skip hire permit can cost as low as £20, based on the skip size and council you have to get the permit from. There are more expensive skip hire permits; for about £60, £80 and £100. The local council office can provide you with the specifics you need on pricing. We make it our business at Norris Limehouse to make skip hiring easy for you. We can get you a skip hire permit and deliver the skip you hire to save you stress. When you request an online quote, we include the cost of getting a permit, which will not be necessary if you have land of your own to place the skip in. We can get skip hire services along with permits that have up to 14 day validity. You can reach us now on 020 8698 8000 if you need to know more details on skip hire permits and other waste disposal services.

Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
The Environmental Agency and government have been setting recycling targets for some time now. We at Norris Limehouse acknowledge these targets and here they are: The Environmental Agency aims to make sure the Englands’ and Wales’ environment can improve and is protected. Some government organisations and local authorities are tasked with the job of meeting their targets and making sure other environmental services available get to needed locations. The Environmental Agency also endeavors to make sure land, air and water are constantly improved in terms of quality. They implement efforts to control environmental pollution and further encourage the conservation of plants, animals and other natural resources. It doesn’t stop at that! They also provide enlightenment for people on better waste control methods such as recycling household waste. The Environmental Agency can be contacted on 08708 506 506 or through their office in your locality, or their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. A landfill directive was released because of Government Targets. The amount of waste that requires a reduction for landfilling purposes in the UK is specified. It stated also that from 2007, landfills should only accept treated waste. Beginning from the most recent year, here are the target: The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2015 should be 35% of what was taken in 1995. Only 50% of the waste taken in 1995 should be taken for landfill sites in the UK in 2013. In 2010, only 75% of the waste collected for filling UK landfill sites in 1995 should be collected. The Waste Strategy 2000 included the following targets, as a way of making sure waste is recovered and the landfill directive is reached: Of all the waste, 67% should be recovered in 2015, 45% of it recovered in 2010, and 40% of it recovered in 2005.
The targets for natural recycling were published in the Waste Strategy 2000 by the government. They include:
33% of household waste has to be composted or recycled in 2015. By 2010, 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled. No less than 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2005, local authorities were set at 30% for the same year. A ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” was set up by the government to move the efforts of the local authorities towards more recycling and reduction of waste, and for landfill diversion. The following materials can be recycled: wood, clinical waste, metal, building materials, batteries, paper, printer, cartridges, plastic, electricals and electronics, computers, composting, and various others.
