Targets for Waste Recycling
For some time now, the government and the Environmental Agency have set certain recycling targets. We acknowledge these targets which include: The aim of the Environmental Agency is to see to the protection and improvement of the environment in Wales and England. The Environmental Agency does not meet its targets or offer other environmental services to areas that need it all alone, because they partner with several other local authorities and organisations to achieve these goals. The quality of water, air, and land is continuously improved by the Environmental Agency. The agency strives to control environmental pollution and promote the conservation of animals, land, and natural resources. It gets better! Among other things, the body enlightens the general populace on environmental issues, promotes the recycling of household products to decrease their piling up in large quantities, and educates on raising the standards of waste removal. Call 08708 506 506 to connect to the head office of the Environmental Agency, located in Bristol at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD or just visit their office in your region. Government Targets already have a landfill directive issued to this effect. It reflects the goals of reducing the quantity of waste sent to landfill spots in the country. Starting from the most recent year, these are the targets: The waste taken to landfill spots in the UK should be 35% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2015. That waste quantity taken to landfill sites be 50% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2015. That the amount of waste taken to landfill spots in the UK by 2010 be only 75% of the amount taken in 1995 Furthermore, the following targets were introduced by the Waste Strategy 2000, for waste recovery and to make the landfill directive achievable: 40% of waste as at 2005 should be recovered, 45% of waste should be recovered by 2010, while as of 2015, 67% of waste should be recovered. Contained in the Waste Strategy 2000 are the natural recycling targets published by the government. The following are the targets: By the year 2015, 33% of household waste should either be recycled or it should be composted. 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled by 2010. Composting and recycling should be carried out on 25% of household waste as of 2005, while each local authority was 30% in the same year. A ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” was issued by the government to assist local authorities in more recycling, reduction of waste, and for landfill diversions. Materials like batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electrical and electronics, vehicles, wood, clinical waste, building materials, and so on, have been listed as recyclable. Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
Skip hire pricing factors need to be well considered before hiring a skip. All these factors are well understood by us at Norris Seven-Kings and we are going to make them clear to you. Regional Pricing – skip hire costs are different in each region. You may get a skip for £50 in London and get the same skip for £20 in Seven-Kings. Pricing is also influenced by how long you want to keep the skip, the more time you want it, the higher the cost would likely be. Keeping in mind there are time limits on skip hire permits too. Limitations and Restrictions – you can’t always put a huge amount of weight in a skip just because it looks big. You have to find out if there are limitations from your skip hire service provider. You may get fined or sanctioned if you put products in the skip that are not allowed, which is why you need to find out if there are any such products.
Issues with renting skips in Seven-Kings
We know at Norris Seven-Kings that hiring the right skip can be exhausting- more so if it involves getting a skip hire permit. Some of the issues with renting skips in Seven-Kings are local council laws, pedestrian only lanes, little or no space in front, small gardens, not enough parking space, narrow paths, congestion zones, double yellow lines, and red routes. With the rising population in Seven-Kings, skip hiring will soon be a more challenging feat. Our waste management services are readily available if you wish to skip the whole task of skip hiring.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
In 1994, another waste licensing system replaced the 1974 Control of Pollution Act for “controlled waste” regulation – deposit, recovery and removal. Controlled wastes are wastes from industrial, commercial, and household processes in solid or liquid form. People who only do waste disposals from personal gardens were not included in getting the license. In order to have the license, the person applying has to show that they are fit to hold it. Anyone applying to own a new site has to have the Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) certificate, which proves they are “technically competent”.
The duty of care for people who manage creating, bringing in, movement, storing, treating and removing controlled waste is specified in section 34 of the act. It was stated in the Act that “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” How waste is disposed of is controlled by special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005.
Skip Hire Permits
Do you want to hire a skip for a construction project that will involve placing it on public land? Then you will need a skip hire permit. Skip hire permits have to be obtained when you need to use land that isn’t your property to place your skip. The land in question may be that of a third party, a street, a government road, or a federal highway. If you have land or property you intend to used, you don’t need a skip hire permit, as long as it won’t intrude on land that isn’t yours. But, if you place a skip in a position that infringes on the privacy of another person not involved in your project, the skip might be removed and seized, or you could even be fined. Getting a skip hire permit can cost as low as £20, based on the skip size and council you have to get the permit from. There are more expensive skip hire permits; for about £60, £80 and £100. The council office is a good place to get all the pricing details you need. At Norris Seven-Kings, we consider it our responsibility to ease your skip hire process. So why go through the stress of getting a skip hire permit when we can get it for you, while we deliver the skip you require? When you request an online quote, we include the cost of getting a permit, which will not be necessary if you have land of your own to place the skip in. We provide skip hire services along with permits that last for up to 14 days. Call us today on 020 8698 8000 and we will provide you with any details you might need on our skip hire permits and waste management services.

Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
The Environmental Agency and government have been setting recycling targets for some time now. We uphold these set recycling rules at Norris Seven-Kings and you can find them below: The Environmental Agency is on a mission to make sure the environment in England and Wales is improved and protected. Many government organisations and local authorities are in place to ensure recycling targets are met, and that areas needing environmental services receive the services they have available. The Environmental Agency also endeavors to make sure land, air and water are constantly improved in terms of quality. They have efforts in place for environmental pollution control and to encourage the conservation of nature. It doesn’t stop at that! They also provide enlightenment for people on better waste control methods such as recycling household waste. The agency can be contacted on 08 708 506 506, or by their office in your region. You can also visit their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. With respect to Government Targets, a landfill directive was released. Find the targets below, starting from the most recent year: No more that 35% of the waste retrieved to use for landfill sites in the UK should be retrieved by 2015. The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used for landfills in the UK by 2013 shouldn’t exceed 50% of what was taken in 1995. The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2010 should be 75% of what was taken in 1995. Furthermore, the following targets were introduced by the Waste Strategy 2000, for waste recovery and to make the landfill directive achievable: 67% of waste should be recovered as of 2015, 45% of waste should be recovered as of 2010, 40% of waste should be recovered as of 2005.
Natural recycling targets were published by the government in Waste Strategy 2000 and are:
33% of household waste must be composted or recycled as of 2015. 30% of household waste has to be composted or recycled in 2010. Household waste that is composted or recycled, in 2015, should be 25%, while the local authorities had a 30% target. To help the local authorities recycle more and reduce waste and for landfill diversions, a “Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” was released by the government. A list of materials that can be recycled include: wood, vehicles, composting, clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electricals and electronics, computers, and a few others.
