Targets for Waste Recycling
The Environmental Agency and the government have set recycling targets for some time now. We acknowledge these targets which include: The mission of the Environmental Agency is to ensure the improvement and protection of the environment in England and Wales. Several other local authorities and organisations work with the Environmental Agency to achieve its aims, and to provide other environmental services to areas in need of it. The Environmental Agency also strives to improve the quality of water, land, and air continuously. They control environmental pollution, and also encourage the conservation of animals, plants and other natural resources by implementing certain efforts towards these goals. There are still other things! Among other things, the body enlightens the general populace on environmental issues, promotes the recycling of household products to decrease their piling up in large quantities, and educates on raising the standards of waste removal. With the telephone number – 08708 506 506, you can contact the Environmental Agency head office in Bristol at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD, or contact their office in your region. Government Targets already have a landfill directive issued to this effect. The directive released contains government targets aimed at reducing the amount of waste taken to landfill spots in the UK. From the recent year, the targets include: Waste quantity taken to landfill sites should be 35% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2015. That waste quantity taken to landfill sites be 50% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2015. That waste quantity taken to landfill sites be 75% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2010. To help make the landfill directive achievable and recover waste, the following targets were also introduced by the Waste Strategy 2000: 45% of all waste should be recovered by the end of 2010, 67% of waste should be recovered by 2015, while 40% of waste be recovered as of 2005. The government published the natural recycling targets by the Waste Strategy 2000. These targets were: The target projects that, as of 2015, 33% of household waste should either be recycled or composted. 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled by 2010. Composting and recycling should be carried out on 25% of household waste as of 2005, while each local authority was 30% in the same year. The government, in its quest to reduce waste, for landfill diversion, and to assist local authorities in more recycling, has issued a “Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant”. A list of materials that can be recycled include: wood, vehicles, composting, clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electrical and electronics, computers, and various others. If you want to keep yourself abreast of new additions to the targets, especially in recent years, contact us at Norris South-Kensington office at South-Kensington.

Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
Some factors are important to look into when hiring a skip. At Norris South-Kensington, we understand these factors and will briefly explain them to you. Regional Pricing – every region has its own skip hire cost. A skip priced at £50 in London, for example, may be priced at £20 in South-Kensington. Pricing is also influenced by how long you want to keep the skip, the more time you want it, the higher the cost would likely be. Not also forgetting that skip hire permits have a duration too. Limitations and Restrictions – no matter the size of a skip, it will still have a weight limit. You need to know about what limitations or restrictions your skip hire service provider may have. Ask if there are any items that aren’t allowed in the skip and stick to the restrictions if there are, so you won’t be sanctioned or fined.
Issues with renting skips in South-Kensington
The process of hiring a skip is often difficult, especially if you want to get a skip hire permit as well. We know about all of these difficulties at Norris South-Kensington. Some of the issues with renting skips in South-Kensington are local council laws, pedestrian only lanes, little or no space in front, small gardens, not enough parking space, narrow paths, congestion zones, double yellow lines, and red routes. With the rising population in South-Kensington, skip hiring will soon be a more challenging feat. Alternative to kip hiring and getting a hire permit, our waste disposal services are available for your use.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
In 1994, another waste licensing system replaced the 1974 Control of Pollution Act for “controlled waste” regulation – deposit, recovery and removal. Controlled waste refers to liquid or solid industrial, commercial, and household wastes. Personal garden waste disposal does not require the use of the license. In order to have the license, the person applying has to show that they are fit to hold it. “Technical competence” is something an applicant for new site ownership needs to show by having the Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) certificate .
Those involved in the creation, bringing in, conveyance, storage, treatment or removal of controlled waste have their own duty of care in section 34 of the Act. It stated that “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” Waste disposal regulation is handled by special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005.
Skip Hire Permits
If you’re going to place a skip you hired for a construction project on public land, you need a skip hire permit. Skip hire permits have to be obtained when you need to use land that isn’t your property to place your skip. This land could be a federal highway, government road, a street, or could be owned by a third party. You don’t need a skip hire permit if you have your own land and won’t be intruding on government or third party-owned land. Intruding on another person’s land, privacy or space may get you fined, or the skip may be removed and seized. Getting a skip hire permit can cost as low as £20, based on the skip size and council you have to get the permit from. There are skip hire permits that may cost as much as £60, £80, and up to £100 sometimes. The local council office can provide you with the specifics you need on pricing. However, it’s our duty at Norris South-Kensington to make your skip hire a smooth process. We can get you a skip hire permit and deliver the skip you hire to save you stress. Request an online quote and we will include the cost of getting a skip hire permit, which would be excluded, of course, if you have property to use. The permits we provide with skip hire services last as long as 14 days. We can be reached today on 020 8698 8000 if you want to know more about skip hire permits and other services we have in place for you.

Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
The Environmental Agency and government have been setting recycling targets for some time now. We recognize these recycling targets at Norris South-Kensington and here they are: The goal of the Environmental Agency is to secure the protection and improvement of the environment in England and Wales. There are several government organisations and local authorities they work with to ensure that their targets are met, and other environmental services they have to offer get to areas where they are needed. The Environmental Agency also endeavors to make sure land, air and water are constantly improved in terms of quality. They work towards the control of pollution in the environment and encourage the protection of natural resources like plants and animals. That’s not all! The body also enlightens the general populace on issues regarding the environment, improving waste removal standards, encouraging the recycling of household products to reduce the quantity of waste, and lots more. The agency can be contacted on 08 708 506 506, or by their office in your region. You can also visit their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. As for Government Targets, a landfill directive was released. The amount of waste that requires a reduction for landfilling purposes in the UK is specified. It further stated that, from 2007, landfills were to only take untreated waste. Beginning from the most recent year, here are the target: The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2015 should be 35% of what was taken in 1995. In 2013, only 50% of the waste collected for filling UK landfill sites in 1995 should be collected. Only 75% of the waste taken in 1995 should be taken for landfill sites in the UK in 2010. Also, these targets were introduced by Waste Strategy 2000, for the recovery of waste and achieving the landfill directive: y 2015, 67% of the waste has to be recovered, 45% recovered by 2010, 40% by 2005.
The government published, in the Waste Strategy 2000, the following natural recycling targets:
No less than 33% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2015. 30% of household waste must be composted or recycled as of 2010. No less than 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2005, local authorities were set at 30% for the same year. The government issued a ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” to help local authorities recycle more, reduce waste, and for landfill diversions. The following materials can be recycled: wood, clinical waste, metal, building materials, batteries, paper, printer, cartridges, plastic, electricals and electronics, computers, composting, and various others.
