Its width of 1.5m by 2.5m allows space for larger products, such as kitchen and bathroom refits, appliances, electronics, and furniture. It can take as many as 45 to 50 black waste bags, and a little over 17 full barrow loads of waste. It will fit well into your garden clearance, or do-it-yourself project plan.
- 6 Yard Skip Hire The 6 yard skip is perfect for home extension projects and office premises renovations. The 6 yard skip is suitable for carrying builders waste and is available at Norris Tufnell-Park. It can be used to store cumbersome waste materials like soil or stones. - 8 Yard Skip Hire We also hire out 8 yard skips, which are best used for extensive projects. Similar to the 6 yard skip, the 8 yard skip has space for a lot more waste and refits. If you’re doing a massive home removal, the 8 yard skip would be a perfect choice.
- 10 Yard Skip Hire If you’re looking for a much bigger skip for a large garden clearance or home removal, then you should check out the 10 yard skip. If you’re handling a commercial project, the 2.1m by 3.6m wide skip is available for hire at Norris Tufnell-Park. The 10 yard skip can contain up to 52 full barrow loads of commercial waste, or 120–140 large bin bags. For larger building projects, home removals, and garden or site clearance, this is the skip to use.

Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
A number of factors matter and have to be looked into when you want to hire a skip. At Norris Tufnell-Park, we understand these factors and will briefly explain them to you. Regional Pricing – every region has its own skip hire cost. You might get a skip at £50 in London, for instance, and get the same skip size for £20 in Tufnell-Park. The longer you need to hold on to a skip, the more expensive the skip will be, because pricing is affected by time as well. Also bearing in mind that skip hire permits only last for a set period of time as well. Limitations and Restrictions – you can’t always put a huge amount of weight in a skip just because it looks big. Ask your skip hire service provider if they have restrictions on their skips. You may get fined or sanctioned if you put products in the skip that are not allowed, which is why you need to find out if there are any such products.
Issues with renting skips in Tufnell-Park
We know at Norris Tufnell-Park that hiring the right skip can be exhausting- more so if it involves getting a skip hire permit. Renting a skip in Tufnell-Park may come with issues such as local council laws, pedestrian only lanes, narrow paths, red routes, small parking space, congestion zones, small gardens, and double yellow lines. We are also aware of the increasing population in Tufnell-Park, which will mean increased difficulty in skip hiring in the near future. You can avoid the stress of hiring skips and getting permits by hiring our waste disposal service instead.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
For “controlled waste” deposit, recovery and removal regulation, a new waste licensing system replaced the 1974 Control of Pollution Act in 1994. Any industrial, commercial, or household waste in solid or liquid form is referred to as controlled waste. The license is not needed by those who only dispose of waste from their personal gardens. In order to have the license, the person applying has to show that they are fit to hold it. “Technical competence” is something an applicant for new site ownership needs to show by having the Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) certificate .
In section 34 of the act, the duty of care for all those who make, bring in, move, treat, store or remove controlled waste is available. It stated that “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” There are also the special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005, that regulates how waste should be disposed of.
Skip Hire Permits
To place a skip for a construction project on any public land, you need a skip hire permit. Skip hire permits are required when you intend to use a piece of land you don’t own to place the skip. Federal highways, streets, government roads, and land owned by any third party are those that require skip hire permits. A skip hire isn’t necessary when you have land to use and won’t be crossing into another person’s land or government owned land. You risk being fined or having the skip removed and seized if you do not ensure your skip doesn’t cross out of your own land and into someone’s space. Depending on your location and the size of the skip involved, £20 should be able to get you a skip hire permit. There are skip hire permits that may cost as much as £60, £80, and up to £100 sometimes. The local council office can provide you with the specifics you need on pricing. We make it our business at Norris Tufnell-Park to make skip hiring easy for you. We can get you a skip hire permit and deliver the skip you hire to save you stress. We include the cost of getting ski hire permits in our online quotes when you request them, which can be removed if you already have land or a place on which to put the skip. The permits we provide with skip hire services last as long as 14 days. We can be reached today on 020 8698 8000 if you want to know more about skip hire permits and other services we have in place for you.

Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
The Environmental Agency and government have been setting recycling targets for some time now. We at Norris Tufnell-Park acknowledge these targets and here they are: The Environmental Agency aims to make sure the Englands’ and Wales’ environment can improve and is protected. Some government organisations and local authorities are tasked with the job of meeting their targets and making sure other environmental services available get to needed locations. This agency also works to regularly improve the quality of water, land and air. They set up systems to regulate environmental pollution, and also promote the preservation of plants, animals and other natural resources. That’s not all! The body also enlightens the general populace on issues regarding the environment, improving waste removal standards, encouraging the recycling of household products to reduce the quantity of waste, and lots more. The Environmental Agency can be contacted on 08708 506 506 or through their office in your locality, or their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. To handle Government Targets, a landfill directive was issued. The amount of waste that requires a reduction for landfilling purposes in the UK is specified. It added as well that landfills from 2007 should only take waste that has been treated. Beginning from the most recent year, here are the target: No more that 35% of the waste retrieved to use for landfill sites in the UK should be retrieved by 2015. The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used for landfills in the UK by 2013 shouldn’t exceed 50% of what was taken in 1995. No more that 75% of the waste retrieved to use for landfill sites in the UK should be retrieved by 2010 Also, these targets were introduced by Waste Strategy 2000, for the recovery of waste and achieving the landfill directive: y 2015, 67% of the waste has to be recovered, 45% recovered by 2010, 40% by 2005.
Waste Strategy 2000 had published in it, by the government, the natural recycling targets, which are as follows:
No less than 33% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2015. No less than 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2010. Household waste that is composted or recycled, in 2015, should be 25%, while the local authorities had a 30% target. A ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” was issued by the government to assist local authorities in more recycling, reduction of waste, and landfill diversions. Recyclable materials include the following and more: metal, building materials, batteries, paper, printer, cartridges, plastic, wood, clinical waste electricals and electronics, computers, and composting
