For some time now, the government and the Environmental Agency have set certain recycling targets. We acknowledge these targets which include: The agency charged with protecting and improving the English and Welsh environment is the Environmental Agency. The Environmental Agency does not meet its targets or offer other environmental services to areas that need it all alone, because they partner with several other local authorities and organisations to achieve these goals. The quality of water, air, and land is continuously improved by the Environmental Agency. The Environmental Agency encourages the conservation of animals, land, and natural resources, and controls environmental pollution by implementing certain efforts. There is more! The Environmental Agency is determined to educate the people on anything to do with the environment, improve waste disposal standards, and improve the recycling of household items in order to reduce their quantity. Get in touch with the Environmental Agency office in your location, or you can find the head office in Bristol Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. Telephone: 08708 506 506. As for Government Targets, a landfill directive was released. The directive sets out all the targets to be reached, which will see a decrease of the quantity of waste taken to different landfill spots in the United Kingdom. The targets, as of the most recent year, include: The waste taken to landfill spots in the UK should be 35% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2015. The waste taken to landfill spots in the UK should be 50% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2013. By 2010, the waste taken to landfill sites around the United Kingdom should be 75% of what was taken in 1995. The following targets were also introduced by the Waste Strategy of 2000 to recover waste and help in achieving the landfill directive: 45% of all waste should be recovered by the end of 2010, 67% of waste should be recovered by 2015, while 40% of waste be recovered as of 2005. The government published the natural recycling targets by the Waste Strategy 2000. These targets include: By 2015, 33% of household waste should be composted or recycled. 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled by 2010. By 2005, 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled, while that of each local authority was 30% as in the same year. The government, in its quest to reduce waste, for landfill diversion, and to assist local authorities in more recycling, has issued a “Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant”. Materials like batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electrical and electronics, vehicles, wood, clinical waste, building materials, and so on, have been listed as recyclable. Visit the Norris St-Luke’s office at St-Luke’s to get updated on any recent additions to the targets especially for the upcoming.

Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
Some factors are important to look into when hiring a skip. We at Norris St-Luke’s understand these skip hire pricing factors, and we have decided to give you a brief explanation of each of them. Regional Pricing – hiring a skip will cost something different in different regions. A skip that would cost you £50 in London, for instance, may cost you less in St-Luke’s. How long you want to keep the skip will affect the price of the skip. The longer the period of time you intend to keep it, the more likely you are to pay a higher amount. Taking into consideration that skip hire permits have a time duration. Limitations and Restrictions – skips usually have weight limits even with their sizes. You have to find out if there are limitations from your skip hire service provider. Ask if there are any items that aren’t allowed in the skip and stick to the restrictions if there are, so you won’t be sanctioned or fined.
Issues with renting skips in St-Luke’s
The process of hiring a skip is often difficult, especially if you want to get a skip hire permit as well. We know about all of these difficulties at Norris St-Luke’s. Issues to be considered when hiring a skip in St-Luke’s are local council laws, red routes, double yellow lines, narrow paths, congestion zones, small front space, pedestrian only lanes and red routes. We know that the population in St-Luke’s is increasing on a daily basis, meaning getting a space to place a skip will soon become more difficult. Alternative to kip hiring and getting a hire permit, our waste disposal services are available for your use.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
For “controlled waste” deposit, recovery and removal regulation, a new waste licensing system replaced the 1974 Control of Pollution Act in 1994. Liquid or solid waste from industrial, commercial, and household processes are called controlled wastes. People who only do waste disposals from personal gardens were not included in getting the license. To acquire the permit, all applicants need to show they are fit to hold it. Anyone applying to own a new site has to have the Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) certificate, which proves they are “technically competent”.
In section 34 of the act, the duty of care for all those who make, bring in, move, treat, store or remove controlled waste is available. It stated that “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” The special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005 are in charge of controlling the way waste is disposed.
Skip Hire Permits
If you’re going to place a skip you hired for a construction project on public land, you need a skip hire permit. In regards to the land or space you would be placing the skip on that isn’t yours, you need a skip hire permit. The land in question may be that of a third party, a street, a government road, or a federal highway. If you have land or property you intend to used, you don’t need a skip hire permit, as long as it won’t intrude on land that isn’t yours. You risk being fined or having the skip removed and seized if you do not ensure your skip doesn’t cross out of your own land and into someone’s space. With £20, you can get a skip hire permit, but charges may differ because of the skip size or council who issue the permit. There are skip hire permits that may cost as much as £60, £80, and up to £100 sometimes. Any questions you have on pricing can be answered at the local council office. We want to ensure you have a much easier skip hire process at Norris St-Luke’s. We can get you a skip hire permit and deliver the skip you hire to save you stress. The cost of getting a skip hire permit is often added to the online quote you request , although this won’t matter if you have space or land for keeping the skip. The permits we provide with skip hire services last as long as 14 days. Call us today on 020 8698 8000 and we will provide you with any details you might need on our skip hire permits and waste management services.

Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
A number of targets for recycling were set by the Environmental Agency and government. We recognize these recycling targets at Norris St-Luke’s and here they are: The Environmental Agency aims to make sure the Englands’ and Wales’ environment can improve and is protected. There are several government organisations and local authorities they work with to ensure that their targets are met, and other environmental services they have to offer get to areas where they are needed. The aim of the agency is also to make sure the quality of land, air and water gets better constantly. They implement steps that aim to control pollution in the environment, encouraging efforts towards preserving natural resources as well. It doesn’t end there! The body educates the public on environmental matters, like better waste removal standards, by promoting the recycling of household waste to reduce how much waste they have. The agency can be contacted on 08 708 506 506, or by their office in your region. You can also visit their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. To handle Government Targets, a landfill directive was issued. It states that targets for lowering the quantity of waste taken to landfill spots in the United Kingdom. It added as well that landfills from 2007 should only take waste that has been treated. Find the targets below, starting from the most recent year: The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used in landfills in the UK by 2015 shouldn’t exceed 35% of what was taken in 1995. The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used for landfills in the UK by 2013 shouldn’t exceed 50% of what was taken in 1995. In 2010, only 75% of the waste collected for filling UK landfill sites in 1995 should be collected. The Waste Strategy 2000 included the following targets, as a way of making sure waste is recovered and the landfill directive is reached: Of all the waste, 67% should be recovered in 2015, 45% of it recovered in 2010, and 40% of it recovered in 2005.
The government published, in the Waste Strategy 2000, the following natural recycling targets:
Household waste that is composted or recycled in 2015 should make up 33% of total waste. No less than 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2010. 25% of household waste must be composted or recycled as of 2005, even though local authorities had a 30% target in the same year. The government released a ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” to assist in the recycling and reduction of waste and landfill diversions. Wood, vehicles, composting, clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electricals and electronics, computers, and more are recyclable.
