Norris Northwood recognizes these targets and they are: The aim of the Environmental Agency is to see to the protection and improvement of the environment in Wales and England. There are several government organisations and local authorities they work with to ensure that their targets are met, and that other environmental services they have to offer get to the areas where they are needed. The Environmental Agency also strives to improve the quality of water, land, and air continuously. The Environmental Agency encourages the conservation of animals, land, and natural resources, and controls environmental pollution by implementing certain efforts. It doesn’t end there! The body also enlightens the general populace on issues regarding the environment, improving waste removal standards, encouraging the recycling of household products to reduce the quantity of waste, and lots more. That waste quantity taken to landfill sites be 50% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2015. The target projects that, as of 2005, 25% of household waste should either be recycled or composted, and every single local authority was to be 30% in the same year. A ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” was issued by the government to assist local authorities in more recycling, reduction of waste, and for landfill diversions. Materials like batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electrical and electronics, vehicles, wood, clinical waste, building materials, and so on, have been listed as recyclable. Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
A number of factors matter and have to be looked into when you want to hire a skip. All these factors are well understood by us at Norris Northwood and we are going to make them clear to you. Regional Pricing – the cost of hiring a skip differs from region to region. A skip priced at £50 in London, for example, may be priced at £20 in Northwood. The longer you need to hold on to a skip, the more expensive the skip will be, because pricing is affected by time as well. Taking into consideration that skip hire permits have a time duration. Limitations and Restrictions – skips usually have weight limits even with their sizes. You need to know about what limitations or restrictions your skip hire service provider may have. You may get fined or sanctioned if you put products in the skip that are not allowed, which is why you need to find out if there are any such products.
Issues with renting skips in Northwood
The process of hiring a skip is often difficult, especially if you want to get a skip hire permit as well. We know about all of these difficulties at Norris Northwood. The following concerns may be attached to skip hiring in Northwood: local council laws, double yellow lines, small gardens, narrow paths, congestion zones, limited front space, red routes, and pedestrian only lanes. We know that the population in Northwood is increasing on a daily basis, meaning getting a space to place a skip will soon become more difficult. Alternative to kip hiring and getting a hire permit, our waste disposal services are available for your use.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
In 1994, another waste licensing system replaced the 1974 Control of Pollution Act for “controlled waste” regulation – deposit, recovery and removal. Solid or liquid commercial, industrial, and household waste is called controlled waste. If you only do personal garden waste removal, however, you do not require the license. In order to have the license, the person applying has to show that they are fit to hold it. “Technical competence” is something an applicant for new site ownership needs to show by having the Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) certificate .
The duty of care for people who manage creating, bringing in, movement, storing, treating and removing controlled waste is specified in section 34 of the act. It was stated in the Act that “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” There are also the special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005, that regulates how waste should be disposed of.
Skip Hire Permits
To place a skip for a construction project on any public land, you need a skip hire permit. Skip hire permits are necessary for situations where you need to place a skip on a piece of land or in a space that isn’t yours. These lands include federal highways and government roads, third party owned lands, and land along streets. You can use your own land or space without a skip hire permit if you have it, only ensuring you don’t cross into land that isn’t yours. You risk being fined or having the skip removed and seized if you do not ensure your skip doesn’t cross out of your own land and into someone’s space. You can get a skip hire permit for £20, although the skip size and issuing council would also affect the cost. Some skip hire permits cost higher than £20, possibly £60, £80, and up to £100. Any questions you have on pricing can be answered at the local council office. At Norris Northwood we feel duty bound to ensuring you hire a skip without stress. We also provide skip hire permit procurement along with skip delivery to make the whole process stress free. Our online quotes also include skip hire permit costs, which doesn’t matter if you have your own land or space on which to place the skip. The permits we have available alongside our skip hire services can serve for up to 14 days. Contact us today on 020 8698 8000 to find out more about skip hire permits and other services we have made available for you.

Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
For a while now, there have been recycling targets set by the Environmental Agency and government. We at Norris Northwood acknowledge these targets and here they are: The Environmental Agency is on a mission to make sure the environment in England and Wales is improved and protected. There are several government organisations and local authorities they work with to ensure that their targets are met, and other environmental services they have to offer get to areas where they are needed. The agency aspires to ensure regular improvements in the quality of land, air and water as well. They have efforts in place for environmental pollution control and to encourage the conservation of nature. That’s not all! The body also enlightens the general populace on issues regarding the environment, improving waste removal standards, encouraging the recycling of household products to reduce the quantity of waste, and lots more. The agency can be contacted on 08 708 506 506, or by their office in your region. You can also visit their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. As for Government Targets, a landfill directive was released. It specifies the targets needed to lower the quantity of waste removed to landfill areas in the UK. It also added, from 2007, that landfills shouldn’t take waste that hasn’t been treated. Find the targets below, starting from the most recent year: In 2015, only 35% of the waste collected for filling UK landfill sites in 1995 should be collected. No more that 50% of the waste retrieved to use for landfill sites in the UK should be retrieved by 2013. Only 75% of the waste taken in 1995 should be taken for landfill sites in the UK in 2010. The Waste Strategy 2000 included the following targets, as a way of making sure waste is recovered and the landfill directive is reached: Of all the waste, 67% should be recovered in 2015, 45% of it recovered in 2010, and 40% of it recovered in 2005.
The natural recycling targets were published in the Waste Strategy 2000 by the government. These targets were:
33% of household waste must be composted or recycled as of 2015. Household waste that is composted or recycled in 2010 should be at 30%. No less than 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2005, local authorities were set at 30% for the same year. The government issued a ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” to help local authorities recycle more, reduce waste, and for landfill diversions. A list of materials that can be recycled include: wood, vehicles, composting, clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electricals and electronics, computers, and a few others.
