Waste Recycling Targets
All waste management agencies now have some recycling targets to meet, which are set by the Environmental Agency and the government. Norris Upminster-Bridge experts recognize these targets, which are: The English and Welsh environment is protected and improved upon by the Environmental Agency. There are several government organisations and local authorities they work with to ensure that their targets are met, and that other environmental services they have to offer get to the areas where they are needed. The quality of water, air, and land is continuously improved by the Environmental Agency. They control environmental pollution, and also encourage the conservation of animals, plants and other natural resources by implementing certain efforts towards these goals. There are still other things! They also educate people on issues that are related to the environment, promote household product recycling to reduce its quantity, better waste disposal standards, and so on. With the telephone number – 08708 506 506, you can contact the Environmental Agency head office in Bristol at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD, or contact their office in your region. A landfill order has been issued concerning Government Targets. The directive sets out all the targets to be reached, which will see a decrease of the quantity of waste taken to different landfill spots in the United Kingdom. The target is set to take effect from the most recent year and they are: The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2015 should be 35% of what was taken in 1995. That waste quantity taken to landfill sites be 50% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2015. By 2010, the waste taken to landfill sites around the United Kingdom should be 75% of what was taken in 1995. Furthermore, the following targets were introduced by the Waste Strategy 2000, for waste recovery and to make the landfill directive achievable: As at 2015, 67% of waste should be recovered, 45% of waste should be recovered as of 2010, while 40% of waste should be recovered as of 2005. Contained in the Waste Strategy 2000 are the natural recycling targets published by the government. The following are the targets: Composting and recycling should be carried out on 33% of household waste as of 2015. The target projects that, as of 2010, 30% of household waste should either be recycled or composted. By 2005, 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled, while that of each local authority was 30% as in the same year. To assist local authorities in recycling more waste, reducing waste, and for landfill diversion, the government issued a ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant”. Clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electrical and electronics, vehicles, wood, clinical waste, and so on, and a few others were included in the list of products to be recycled. If you want to keep yourself abreast of new additions to the targets, especially in recent years, contact us at Norris Upminster-Bridge office at Upminster-Bridge.

Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
There a couple of factors that should be taken into consideration when hiring a skip. We at Norris Upminster-Bridge understand these skip hire pricing factors, and we have decided to give you a brief explanation of each of them. Regional Pricing – the cost of hiring a skip differs from region to region. A skip that would cost you £50 in London, for instance, may cost you less in Upminster-Bridge. Time duration on the hire is another factor that affects pricing, when you want to keep a skip for a long period of time, you’ll have to pay more. Not also forgetting that skip hire permits have a duration too. Limitations and Restrictions – every skip can only take a certain amount of weight regardless of their size. Make enquiries from your service provider on the limitations they might have. Also, make enquiries about products that shouldn’t be put in it. Obey these restrictions to avoid any sanctions or fines.
Issues with renting skips in Upminster-Bridge
At Norris Upminster-Bridge, we understand that getting the perfect skip to hire can be a herculean task – especially with the difficulties that comes with getting a skip hire permit. Narrow paths, local council laws, small gardens, double yellow lines, red routes, pedestrian only lanes, congestion zones, limited space in front, and narrow paths are the issues which usually come up with skip renting in Upminster-Bridge. We know that the population in Upminster-Bridge is increasing on a daily basis, meaning getting a space to place a skip will soon become more difficult. Our waste management services are readily available if you wish to skip the whole task of skip hiring.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
The regulation of waste deposits, and the recovery and removal of “controlled waste” is handled by the waste licensing system that was put in place in 1994, replacing the 1974 Control of Pollution Act. Controlled waste refers to liquid or solid industrial, commercial, and household wastes. The license is not needed by those who only dispose of waste from their personal gardens. To acquire the permit, all applicants need to show they are fit to hold it. If an applicant wishes to own a new site, they have to show how “technically competent” they are by possessing the (WAMITAB) certificate, this is the the Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board.
Those involved in the creation, bringing in, conveyance, storage, treatment or removal of controlled waste have their own duty of care in section 34 of the Act. It stated that “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” The special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005 are in charge of controlling the way waste is disposed.
Skip Hire Permits
You need a skip hire permit if you want to hire a skip for a construction project and will have to place it on public land. Skip hire permits are required when you intend to use a piece of land you don’t own to place the skip. These lands include federal highways and government roads, third party owned lands, and land along streets. If you have land or property you intend to used, you don’t need a skip hire permit, as long as it won’t intrude on land that isn’t yours. But, if you place a skip in a position that infringes on the privacy of another person not involved in your project, the skip might be removed and seized, or you could even be fined. Depending on your location and the size of the skip involved, £20 should be able to get you a skip hire permit. There are more expensive skip hire permits; for about £60, £80 and £100. The local council office can provide you with the specifics you need on pricing. We make it our business at Norris Upminster-Bridge to make skip hiring easy for you. You don’t need the hassle involved with getting a skip hire permit because we can get it for you as we deliver your choice of skip. We include the cost of getting ski hire permits in our online quotes when you request them, which can be removed if you already have land or a place on which to put the skip. We can get skip hire services along with permits that have up to 14 day validity. Call us today on 020 8698 8000 and we will provide you with any details you might need on our skip hire permits and waste management services.

Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
There are recycling targets put in place by the Environmental Agency and government. We uphold these set recycling rules at Norris Upminster-Bridge and you can find them below: The mission of the Environmental Agency is to ensure the improvement and protection of the environment in England and Wales. Many government organisations and local authorities are in place to ensure recycling targets are met, and that areas needing environmental services receive the services they have available. The Environmental Agency also strives to improve the quality of water, land, and air continuously. They work towards the control of pollution in the environment and encourage the protection of natural resources like plants and animals. It doesn’t end there! The body educates the public on environmental matters, like better waste removal standards, by promoting the recycling of household waste to reduce how much waste they have. The Environmental Agency can be contacted on 08708 506 506 or through their office in your locality, or their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. To handle Government Targets, a landfill directive was issued. It specifies the targets needed to lower the quantity of waste removed to landfill areas in the UK. It further stated that, from 2007, landfills were to only take untreated waste. Starting from the most recent year, these are the targets: The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used in landfills in the UK by 2015 shouldn’t exceed 35% of what was taken in 1995. In 2013, only 50% of the waste collected for filling UK landfill sites in 1995 should be collected. The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2010 should be 75% of what was taken in 1995. The Waste Strategy 2000 included the following targets, as a way of making sure waste is recovered and the landfill directive is reached: Of all the waste, 67% should be recovered in 2015, 45% of it recovered in 2010, and 40% of it recovered in 2005.
The targets for natural recycling were published in the Waste Strategy 2000 by the government. They include:
33% of household waste must be composted or recycled as of 2015. Household waste that is composted or recycled in 2010 should be at 30%. 25% of household waste has to be composted or recycled in 2005, although local authority was 30% in that same year. The government issued a ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” to help local authorities recycle more, reduce waste, and for landfill diversions. A list of materials that can be recycled include: wood, vehicles, composting, clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electricals and electronics, computers, and a few others.
