For some time now, the government and the Environmental Agency have set certain recycling targets. Norris South-Hornchurch experts recognize these targets, which are: The Environmental Agency’s duty is to protect and better the environment of England and Wales. There are several government organisations and local authorities they work with to ensure that their targets are met, and that other environmental services they have to offer get to the areas where they are needed. The Environmental Agency continuously strives to improve water, land, and air quality. They control environmental pollution, and also encourage the conservation of animals, plants and other natural resources by implementing certain efforts towards these goals. That’s not all! The agency also puts effort in ensuring that people are up to date in environmental matters, raises waste removal standards and promotes the recycling of household products to significantly reduce the quantity of waste, among other objectives. With the telephone number – 08708 506 506, you can contact the Environmental Agency head office in Bristol at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD, or contact their office in your region. Government Targets already have a landfill directive issued to this effect. It reflects the goals of reducing the quantity of waste sent to landfill spots in the country. The target is set to take effect from the most recent year and they are: By 2015, the waste taken to landfill sites around the United Kingdom should be 35% of what was taken in 1995. The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2013 should be 50% of what was taken in 1995. The waste taken to landfill spots in the UK should be 75% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2010. Also, some targets were introduced for waste recovery, and to help make the landfill directive achievable by the Waste Strategy 2000: 40% of waste as at 2005 should be recovered, 45% of waste should be recovered by 2010, while as of 2015, 67% of waste should be recovered. Contained in the Waste Strategy 2000 are the natural recycling targets published by the government. Here are the targets: The target projects that, as of 2015, 33% of household waste should either be recycled or composted. Composting and recycling should be carried out on 30% of household waste as at 2010. By the year 2005, 25% of household waste should either be recycled or it should be composted and 30% was set for each local authority in 2005. A ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” was issued by the government to assist local authorities in more recycling, reduction of waste, and for landfill diversions. Recyclable materials were listed, which include: wood, vehicles, clinical waste, building materials, composting, printer cartridges, batteries, paper, computers, plastic, glass, furniture, oil, metal, electronic and electricals, and so on. At Norris South-Hornchurch office at South-Hornchurch, you will get updated if there are any additions to the above targets, especially in recent years.

Regional pricing – skip hire costs differ by location, it could be higher or lower. You might get a skip at £50 in London, for instance, and get the same skip size for £20 in South-Hornchurch. How long you want to keep the skip will affect the price of the skip. The longer the period of time you intend to keep it, the more likely you are to pay a higher amount. Also bearing in mind that skip hire permits only last for a set period of time as well. Limitations and Restrictions – skips usually have weight limits even with their sizes. You have to find out if there are limitations from your skip hire service provider. Find out what products aren’t allowed in the skip and follow the restrictions, to avoid being sanctioned or fined.
Issues with renting skips in South-Hornchurch
Skip hire is not always easy, you have to get the right one, and there’s more stress if you need a permit- we know all of this at Norris South-Hornchurch. Renting a skip in South-Hornchurch may come with issues such as local council laws, pedestrian only lanes, narrow paths, red routes, small parking space, congestion zones, small gardens, and double yellow lines. We are also aware of the increasing population in South-Hornchurch, which will mean increased difficulty in skip hiring in the near future. You don’t have to worry about skip hiring and acquiring a permit, we can provide waste disposal services instead.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
A new waste licensing system was put in place in 1994 to replace the Control of Pollution Act of 1974 on the regulation of deposits, recovery, and removal of “controlled waste”. Controlled wastes are wastes from industrial, commercial, and household processes in solid or liquid form. Personal garden waste disposal does not require the use of the license. Anyone applying for the license has to show proof that they can handle it. The Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) certificate is often presented by people applying to own new sites, to show they are “technically competent”.
Section 34 of the act includes the duty of care for people who are part of creating, bringing in, conveying, storing, treating, and removing controlled waste. It stated that “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” Waste disposal regulation is handled by special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005.
Skip Hire Permits
You need a skip hire permit if you want to hire a skip for a construction project and will have to place it on public land. Skip hire permits have to be obtained when you need to use land that isn’t your property to place your skip. It could be land that belongs to a third party, a federal highway, government road, or along the street. However, if you have a piece of land or property to place the skip in, and you are sure that it won’t intrude on council land or someone else’s property, then you won’t have to get a skip permit. Intruding on another person’s land, privacy or space may get you fined, or the skip may be removed and seized. You can get a skip hire permit for £20, although the skip size and issuing council would also affect the cost. There are skip hire permits that may cost as much as £60, £80, and up to £100 sometimes. The local council office can provide you with the specifics you need on pricing. We want to ensure you have a much easier skip hire process at Norris South-Hornchurch. Why bother then with getting a skip hire permit when we can get it done for you, along with delivering the skip you hire? Our online quotes also include skip hire permit costs, which doesn’t matter if you have your own land or space on which to place the skip. We can get skip hire services along with permits that have up to 14 day validity. We can be reached today on 020 8698 8000 if you want to know more about skip hire permits and other services we have in place for you.

Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
For a while now, there have been recycling targets set by the Environmental Agency and government. At Norris South-Hornchurch, we acknowledge these set recycling targets and they are as follows: The goal of the Environmental Agency is to secure the protection and improvement of the environment in England and Wales. Many government organisations and local authorities are in place to ensure recycling targets are met, and that areas needing environmental services receive the services they have available. The Environmental Agency also strives to improve the quality of water, land, and air continuously. They have efforts in place for environmental pollution control and to encourage the conservation of nature. That’s not all! The body also enlightens the general populace on issues regarding the environment, improving waste removal standards, encouraging the recycling of household products to reduce the quantity of waste, and lots more. The Environmental Agency can be contacted on 08708 506 506 or through their office in your locality, or their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. As for Government Targets, a landfill directive was released. It gives a recommended target on how much the amount of waste needs to be reduced for landfilling spots in the United Kingdom. It also added, from 2007, that landfills shouldn’t take waste that hasn’t been treated. Starting from the most recent year, these are the targets: No more that 35% of the waste retrieved to use for landfill sites in the UK should be retrieved by 2015. The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2013 should be 50% of what was taken in 1995. Only 75% of the waste taken in 1995 should be taken for landfill sites in the UK in 2010. Also added by the Waste Strategy 2000 were the following targets, to ensure 75% waste recovery and the achievement of the landfill directive, the following waste percentages have to be recovered: 67% in 2015, 45% in 2010 and 40% in 2005.
Natural recycling targets were published by the government in Waste Strategy 2000 and are:
Household waste that is composted or recycled in 2015 should make up 33% of total waste. Household waste that is composted or recycled in 2010 should be at 30%. No less than 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2005, local authorities were set at 30% for the same year. The government released a ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” to assist in the recycling and reduction of waste and landfill diversions. The following materials can be recycled: wood, clinical waste, metal, building materials, batteries, paper, printer, cartridges, plastic, electricals and electronics, computers, composting, and various others.
