Environmental Agency Recycling Targets
The Environmental Agency and the government have set recycling targets for some time now. We acknowledge these targets which include: The English and Welsh environment is protected and improved upon by the Environmental Agency. There are several government organisations and local authorities they work with to ensure that their targets are met, and that other environmental services they have to offer get to the areas where they are needed. It is also their mission to raise the quality of water, land, and air constantly. They control environmental pollution, and also encourage the conservation of animals, plants and other natural resources by implementing certain efforts towards these goals. There is more! They also educate people on issues that are related to the environment, promote household product recycling to reduce its quantity, better waste disposal standards, and so on. Call 08708 506 506 to connect to the head office of the Environmental Agency, located in Bristol at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD or just visit their office in your region. A landfill order has been issued concerning Government Targets. It states the targets for lowering the quantity of waste taken to landfill spots in the United Kingdom. From the recent year, the targets include: That the amount of waste taken to landfill spots in the UK by 2015 be only 35% of the amount taken in 1995. That waste quantity taken to landfill sites be 50% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2015. The waste taken to landfill spots in the UK should be 75% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2010. Also, some targets were introduced for waste recovery, and to help make the landfill directive achievable by the Waste Strategy 2000: 45% of all waste should be recovered by the end of 2010, 67% of waste should be recovered by 2015, while 40% of waste be recovered as of 2005. The government published the natural recycling targets by the Waste Strategy 2000. These targets were: Composting and recycling should be carried out on 33% of household waste as of 2015. By 2010, 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled. The target projects that, as of 2005, 25% of household waste should either be recycled or composted, and every single local authority was to be 30% in the same year. Local authorities can now be assisted to do more recycling through the government issued “Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” which will also help reduce waste and landfill diversion. A list of materials that can be recycled include: wood, vehicles, composting, clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electrical and electronics, computers, and various others. Regional Pricing – the cost of hiring a skip differs from region to region. A skip that would cost you £50 in London, for instance, may cost you less in West-Harrow. How long you want to keep the skip will affect the price of the skip. The longer the period of time you intend to keep it, the more likely you are to pay a higher amount. Not also forgetting that skip hire permits have a duration too. Limitations and Restrictions – skips usually have weight limits even with their sizes. Make enquiries from your service provider on the limitations they might have. You may get fined or sanctioned if you put products in the skip that are not allowed, which is why you need to find out if there are any such products.
Issues with renting skips in West-Harrow
The process of hiring a skip is often difficult, especially if you want to get a skip hire permit as well. We know about all of these difficulties at Norris West-Harrow. Issues to be considered when hiring a skip in West-Harrow are local council laws, red routes, double yellow lines, narrow paths, congestion zones, small front space, pedestrian only lanes and red routes. We know that the growing population in West-Harrow will mean a more difficult skip hiring process soon. Our waste management services are readily available if you wish to skip the whole task of skip hiring.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
The Control of Pollution Act of 1974 was replaced by a new waste licensing system in 1994 to regulate the deposit, recovery, and removal of “controlled waste”. Controlled waste refers to liquid or solid industrial, commercial, and household wastes. If you only do personal garden waste removal, however, you do not require the license. To be granted the license, whoever is applying is required to confirm their ability to hold it. If an applicant wishes to own a new site, they have to show how “technically competent” they are by possessing the (WAMITAB) certificate, this is the the Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board.
People who create, bring in, convey, store, treat, or remove controlled waste were given a new duty of care in section 34 of the Act. The Act stated as follows: “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” The special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005 are in charge of controlling the way waste is disposed.
Skip Hire Permits
Do you want to hire a skip for a construction project that will involve placing it on public land? Then you will need a skip hire permit. Skip hire permits are necessary for situations where you need to place a skip on a piece of land or in a space that isn’t yours. It could be land that belongs to a third party, a federal highway, government road, or along the street. A skip hire isn’t necessary when you have land to use and won’t be crossing into another person’s land or government owned land. If you happen to cross into someone else’s land who isn’t a part of your project, or invade another person’s privacy with the skip, it could be seized or you could be fined. With £20, you can get a skip hire permit, but charges may differ because of the skip size or council who issue the permit. There are also skip hire permits for a lot more than £20, including £60, £80 and £100. Any questions you have on pricing can be answered at the local council office. At Norris West-Harrow, we consider it our responsibility to ease your skip hire process. We also provide skip hire permit procurement along with skip delivery to make the whole process stress free. The cost of getting a skip hire permit is often added to the online quote you request , although this won’t matter if you have space or land for keeping the skip. The permits we have available alongside our skip hire services can serve for up to 14 days. You can reach us now on 020 8698 8000 if you need to know more details on skip hire permits and other waste disposal services.

Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
A number of targets for recycling were set by the Environmental Agency and government. We recognize these recycling targets at Norris West-Harrow and here they are: The Environmental Agency is on a mission to make sure the environment in England and Wales is improved and protected. There are many government organisations and local authorities that have the duty of making sure these targets are achieved and the services they have available get to the environments that need them. The Environmental Agency also endeavors to make sure land, air and water are constantly improved in terms of quality. They set up systems to regulate environmental pollution, and also promote the preservation of plants, animals and other natural resources. That’s not all! The body also enlightens the general populace on issues regarding the environment, improving waste removal standards, encouraging the recycling of household products to reduce the quantity of waste, and lots more. You can reach the Environmental agency at their office in your region, their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD, or call them on 08 708 506 506. With respect to Government Targets, a landfill directive was released. It states that targets for lowering the quantity of waste taken to landfill spots in the United Kingdom. It stated also that from 2007, landfills should only accept treated waste. Starting from the most recent year, these are the targets: The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2015 should be 35% of what was taken in 1995. The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used for landfills in the UK by 2013 shouldn’t exceed 50% of what was taken in 1995. The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used for landfills in the UK by 2010 shouldn’t exceed 75% of what was taken in 1995. Also added by the Waste Strategy 2000 were the following targets, to ensure 75% waste recovery and the achievement of the landfill directive, the following waste percentages have to be recovered: 67% in 2015, 45% in 2010 and 40% in 2005.
Waste Strategy 2000 had published in it, by the government, the natural recycling targets, which are as follows:
By 2015, 33% of household waste should be composted or recycled. 30% of household waste has to be composted or recycled in 2010. By 2005, 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled – while that of each local authority was 30% as of the same year. A ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” was set up by the government to move the efforts of the local authorities towards more recycling and reduction of waste, and for landfill diversion. The following materials can be recycled: wood, clinical waste, metal, building materials, batteries, paper, printer, cartridges, plastic, electricals and electronics, computers, composting, and various others.
