- 4 Yard Skip Hire At Norris Rayners-Lane, we also have the 4 yard skip for hire. Its holding capacity is twice that of the 2 yard skip, and is just 0.90 meters in height. Its width of 1.5m by 2.5m allows space for larger products, such as kitchen and bathroom refits, appliances, electronics, and furniture. 45 to 50 black waste bags, and a little over 17 full barrow loads of waste, can fit into it. It’s ideal for house or garden clearance, and other DIY projects.
- 6 Yard Skip Hire This skip works perfectly for home extensions and office premises renovation projects. The 6 yard skip may be used to carry builders waste like soil and pavers stones, and is provided at Norris Rayners-Lane. It works excellently for stashing away heavy waste and materials such as soil and stones. Its holding space can take about to 75 to 95 black disposal bags, or 30 full barrow loads of building dirt, as it has a width of 1.8m by 2.3m. You’ve probably noticed this skip a lot in your area.
- 8 Yard Skip Hire The 8 yard skip, which we have for hire, is suitable for very big projects such as home extensions. The only difference between the 8 yard and 6 yard skip is that it can contain more items. It has a width of 1.9m by 3.4m, but has a greater holding capacity than the 6 yard skip by almost 20%. It has enough room for up to 100-115 full black bin bags, or 40 barrow loads of builders waste materials. If you’re doing a massive home removal, the 8 yard skip would be a perfect choice.
- 10 Yard Skip Hire This skip works perfectly in large garden clearance and home removals. Norris Rayners-Lane has the 2.1m by 3.6m wide 10 yard skip available for hire for commercial projects. The 10 yard skip can contain up to 52 full barrow loads of commercial waste, or 120–140 large bin bags. This skip serves well when used for big building projects and home removals.
- 12 Yard Skip Hire If your project is an industrialized one, the 12 yard skip would be a perfect fit. At Norris Rayners-Lane, we offer the 12 yard skip for hire for those who need a large skip for their site clearance, office clearance, or commercial projects that involve the disposal of large quantities of waste at a time. 150-185 black waste bags can fit into this large 2.3 by 4.0m skip at any time. Targets for Waste Recycling
For some time now, the government and the Environmental Agency have set certain recycling targets. We at Rayners-Lane work towards the following government set targets: The Environmental Agency’s duty is to protect and better the environment of England and Wales. They ensure that their targets are met while also offering other environmental services to areas that need them, by working with several other government organisations and local authorities. The Environmental Agency also strives to improve the quality of water, land, and air continuously. They implement efforts to control environmental pollution, and further encourage the conservation of plants, animals, and other natural resources. That’s not all! Among other things, the body enlightens the general populace on environmental issues, promotes the recycling of household products to decrease their piling up in large quantities, and educates on raising the standards of waste removal. Get in touch with the Environmental Agency office in your location, or you can find the head office in Bristol Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. Telephone: 08708 506 506. The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2013 should be 50% of what was taken in 1995. That the amount of waste taken to landfill spots in the UK by 2010 be only 75% of the amount taken in 1995 The following targets were also introduced by the Waste Strategy of 2000 to recover waste and help in achieving the landfill directive: 45% of waste is to be recovered as of 2010, while 67% and 40% of waste should be recovered as of 2015 and 2005 respectively. The Waste Strategy of 2000 contains the natural recycling targets published by the government. The following are the targets: By 2015, 33% of household waste should be composted or recycled. The target projects that, as of 2010, 30% of household waste should either be recycled or composted. 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled, and local authorities were set at 30% both by 2005. To assist local authorities in recycling more waste, reducing waste, and for landfill diversion, the government issued a ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant”. Materials like batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electrical and electronics, vehicles, wood, clinical waste, building materials, and so on, have been listed as recyclable. Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
Skip hire pricing factors need to be well considered before hiring a skip. All these factors are well understood by us at Norris Rayners-Lane and we are going to make them clear to you. Regional Pricing – hiring a skip will cost something different in different regions. A skip that would cost you £50 in London, for instance, may cost you less in Rayners-Lane. The length of time you want the skip for will also affect its pricing; the longer you want it for, the higher the cost. Remembering as well that skip hire permits have a time frame and expiry dates. Limitations and Restrictions – no matter the size of a skip, it will still have a weight limit. You have to find out if there are limitations from your skip hire service provider. Ask if there are any items that aren’t allowed in the skip and stick to the restrictions if there are, so you won’t be sanctioned or fined.
Issues with renting skips in Rayners-Lane
The process of hiring a skip is often difficult, especially if you want to get a skip hire permit as well. We know about all of these difficulties at Norris Rayners-Lane. Narrow paths, local council laws, small gardens, double yellow lines, red routes, pedestrian only lanes, congestion zones, limited space in front, and narrow paths are the issues which usually come up with skip renting in Rayners-Lane. We know that the population in Rayners-Lane is increasing on a daily basis, meaning getting a space to place a skip will soon become more difficult. However, you can make use of our rubbish removal services, instead of worrying about renting a skip and hustling for a skip hire permit.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
A new waste licensing system was put in place in 1994 to replace the Control of Pollution Act of 1974 on the regulation of deposits, recovery, and removal of “controlled waste”. Controlled wastes are wastes from industrial, commercial, and household processes in solid or liquid form. Personal garden waste disposal does not require the use of the license. To be granted the license, whoever is applying is required to confirm their ability to hold it. Anyone applying to own a new site has to have the Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) certificate, which proves they are “technically competent”.
People who create, bring in, convey, store, treat, or remove controlled waste were given a new duty of care in section 34 of the Act. It stated that “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” How waste is disposed of is controlled by special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005.
Skip Hire Permits
Do you want to hire a skip for a construction project that will involve placing it on public land? Then you will need a skip hire permit. Skip hire permits are required when you intend to use a piece of land you don’t own to place the skip. The land in question may be that of a third party, a street, a government road, or a federal highway. You can use your own land or space without a skip hire permit if you have it, only ensuring you don’t cross into land that isn’t yours. Intruding on another person’s land, privacy or space may get you fined, or the skip may be removed and seized. You can get a skip hire permit for £20, although the skip size and issuing council would also affect the cost. There are more expensive skip hire permits; for about £60, £80 and £100. Details on skip hire costs can be requested from the local council office. However, it’s our duty at Norris Rayners-Lane to make your skip hire a smooth process. You don’t need the hassle involved with getting a skip hire permit because we can get it for you as we deliver your choice of skip. The cost of getting a skip hire permit is often added to the online quote you request , although this won’t matter if you have space or land for keeping the skip. We provide skip hire services along with permits that last for up to 14 days. Call us today on 020 8698 8000 and we will provide you with any details you might need on our skip hire permits and waste management services.
Tested skips with certificate
If you’re using a skip hire service for the first time, you might be worried about how safe and effective the skip will be during use. We don’t just get you the skip size of your choice at Norris Rayners-Lane, we provide tested skips with certificates as well. Whether you require a closed skip or an open one, you can count on us to deliver it with proof of its efficiency and quality. We can be reached as well on 020 8698 8000, and our experts will provide any details you need. Another option is to come by our Rayners-Lane office and we will provide the tested skip you want with certificate.
At Norris Rayners-Lane, we accept various types of waste in our skips. But there are restrictions on certain products, and they are not allowed in our skips. We can provide you with treatment services for materials like that, depending on how safe they are. These restricted items are automotive oils and fluids, medical waste, car tyres, heavy duty batteries, gas canisters, television sets, air conditioning units, refrigerators, aerosols, and fluorescent light bulbs.
Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
There are recycling targets put in place by the Environmental Agency and government. These targets are upheld by us at Norris Rayners-Lane and here they are: The goal of the Environmental Agency is to secure the protection and improvement of the environment in England and Wales. There are several government organisations and local authorities they work with to ensure that their targets are met, and other environmental services they have to offer get to areas where they are needed. The Environmental Agency also strives to improve the quality of water, land, and air continuously. They have efforts in place for environmental pollution control and to encourage the conservation of nature. It doesn’t end there! The body educates the public on environmental matters, like better waste removal standards, by promoting the recycling of household waste to reduce how much waste they have. You can reach the Environmental agency at their office in your region, their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD, or call them on 08 708 506 506. With respect to Government Targets, a landfill directive was released. It gives a recommended target on how much the amount of waste needs to be reduced for landfilling spots in the United Kingdom. It added as well that landfills from 2007 should only take waste that has been treated. Starting from the most recent year, these are the targets: The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used in landfills in the UK by 2015 shouldn’t exceed 35% of what was taken in 1995. In 2013, only 50% of the waste collected for filling UK landfill sites in 1995 should be collected. Only 75% of the waste taken in 1995 should be taken for landfill sites in the UK in 2010. Also, these targets were introduced by Waste Strategy 2000, for the recovery of waste and achieving the landfill directive: y 2015, 67% of the waste has to be recovered, 45% recovered by 2010, 40% by 2005.
Waste Strategy 2000 had published in it, by the government, the natural recycling targets, which are as follows:
By 2015, 33% of household waste should be composted or recycled. 30% of household waste has to be composted or recycled in 2010. By 2005, 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled – while that of each local authority was 30% as of the same year. The government issued a ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” to help local authorities recycle more, reduce waste, and for landfill diversions. A list of materials that can be recycled include: wood, vehicles, composting, clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electricals and electronics, computers, and a few others.
