Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
Skip hire pricing factors need to be well considered before hiring a skip. We at Norris Hammersmith-Fulham understand these skip hire pricing factors, and we have decided to give you a brief explanation of each of them. Regional Pricing – skip hire costs are different in each region. You may get a skip for £50 in London and get the same skip for £20 in Hammersmith-Fulham. The length of time you want the skip for will also affect its pricing; the longer you want it for, the higher the cost. Remembering as well that skip hire permits have a time frame and expiry dates. Limitations and Restrictions – no matter the size of a skip, it will still have a weight limit. Make enquiries from your service provider on the limitations they might have. Ask if there are any items that aren’t allowed in the skip and stick to the restrictions if there are, so you won’t be sanctioned or fined.
Issues with renting skips in Hammersmith-Fulham
Skip hire is not always easy, you have to get the right one, and there’s more stress if you need a permit- we know all of this at Norris Hammersmith-Fulham. Some of the issues with renting skips in Hammersmith-Fulham are local council laws, pedestrian only lanes, little or no space in front, small gardens, not enough parking space, narrow paths, congestion zones, double yellow lines, and red routes. We know that the growing population in Hammersmith-Fulham will mean a more difficult skip hiring process soon. You can avoid the stress of hiring skips and getting permits by hiring our waste disposal service instead.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
For “controlled waste” deposit, recovery and removal regulation, a new waste licensing system replaced the 1974 Control of Pollution Act in 1994. Any industrial, commercial, or household waste in solid or liquid form is referred to as controlled waste. People who only do waste disposals from personal gardens were not included in getting the license. To be granted the license, whoever is applying is required to confirm their ability to hold it. If an applicant wishes to own a new site, they have to show how “technically competent” they are by possessing the (WAMITAB) certificate, this is the the Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board.
In section 34 of the act, the duty of care for all those who make, bring in, move, treat, store or remove controlled waste is available. The Act stated as follows: “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” Waste disposal regulation is handled by special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005.
Skip Hire Permits
Do you want to hire a skip for a construction project that will involve placing it on public land? Then you will need a skip hire permit. Skip hire permits are required when you intend to use a piece of land you don’t own to place the skip. Federal highways, streets, government roads, and land owned by any third party are those that require skip hire permits. You can use your own land or space without a skip hire permit if you have it, only ensuring you don’t cross into land that isn’t yours. Your skip could be removed and seized, however, if it extends into land that isn’t yours or that of those involved in your project, you even be fined. For as low as £20 you can get a skip hire permit – depending on the size of the skip and the council that is issuing the permit to you at the time. There are more expensive skip hire permits; for about £60, £80 and £100. The council office is a good place to get all the pricing details you need. At Norris Hammersmith-Fulham we feel duty bound to ensuring you hire a skip without stress. Why bother then with getting a skip hire permit when we can get it done for you, along with delivering the skip you hire? Request an online quote and we will include the cost of getting a skip hire permit, which would be excluded, of course, if you have property to use. The permits we provide with skip hire services last as long as 14 days. We are always available on 020 8698 8000 to provide you with details on skip hire and other waste disposal services we have.

Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
Recycling targets were created by the Environmental Agency and government some time ago. We uphold these set recycling rules at Norris Hammersmith-Fulham and you can find them below: The Environmental Agency is on a mission to make sure the environment in England and Wales is improved and protected. There are several government organisations and local authorities they work with to ensure that their targets are met, and other environmental services they have to offer get to areas where they are needed. The Environmental Agency also endeavors to make sure land, air and water are constantly improved in terms of quality. They work towards the control of pollution in the environment and encourage the protection of natural resources like plants and animals. That’s not all! The body also enlightens the general populace on issues regarding the environment, improving waste removal standards, encouraging the recycling of household products to reduce the quantity of waste, and lots more. You can reach the Environmental agency at their office in your region, their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD, or call them on 08 708 506 506. A landfill directive was released to address Government Targets. It gives a recommended target on how much the amount of waste needs to be reduced for landfilling spots in the United Kingdom. Inclusions were made for landfills to only take treated waste from 2007. From the most recent year, the targets are the following: No more that 35% of the waste retrieved to use for landfill sites in the UK should be retrieved by 2015. No more that 50% of the waste retrieved to use for landfill sites in the UK should be retrieved by 2013. The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2010 should be 75% of what was taken in 1995. Also added by the Waste Strategy 2000 were the following targets, to ensure 75% waste recovery and the achievement of the landfill directive, the following waste percentages have to be recovered: 67% in 2015, 45% in 2010 and 40% in 2005.
The targets for natural recycling were published in the Waste Strategy 2000 by the government. They include:
33% of household waste must be composted or recycled as of 2015. By 2010, 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled. 25% of household waste has to be composted or recycled in 2005, although local authority was 30% in that same year. The government released a ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” to assist in the recycling and reduction of waste and landfill diversions. Wood, vehicles, composting, clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electricals and electronics, computers, and more are recyclable.
