Targets for Waste Recycling
All waste management agencies now have some recycling targets to meet, which are set by the Environmental Agency and the government. We at West-Ealing work towards the following government set targets: The agency charged with protecting and improving the English and Welsh environment is the Environmental Agency. There are several government organisations and local authorities they work with to ensure that their targets are met, and that other environmental services they have to offer get to the areas where they are needed. It is also their mission to raise the quality of water, land, and air constantly. The agency strives to control environmental pollution and promote the conservation of animals, land, and natural resources. There is more! Among other things, the body enlightens the general populace on environmental issues, promotes the recycling of household products to decrease their piling up in large quantities, and educates on raising the standards of waste removal. Get in touch with the Environmental Agency office in your location, or you can find the head office in Bristol Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. Telephone: 08708 506 506. Concerning the targets set by the government, they have released a directive. The directive released contains government targets aimed at reducing the amount of waste taken to landfill spots in the UK. From the recent year, the targets include: By 2015, the waste taken to landfill sites around the United Kingdom should be 35% of what was taken in 1995. The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2013 should be 50% of what was taken in 1995. The waste taken to landfill spots in the UK should be 75% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2010. The Waste Strategy of 2000 introduced the following targets to aid waste recovery and to make the landfill directive achievable: 45% of all waste should be recovered by the end of 2010, 67% of waste should be recovered by 2015, while 40% of waste be recovered as of 2005. The government published the natural recycling targets by the Waste Strategy 2000. The following are the targets: The target projects that, as of 2015, 33% of household waste should either be recycled or composted. By the year 2010, 30% of household waste should be either recycled or it should be composted. Composting and recycling should be carried out on 25% of household waste as of 2005, while each local authority was 30% in the same year. The government has issued a grant to help local authorities in more recycling, reducing waste, and for landfill diversion, known as the ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant”. Clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electrical and electronics, vehicles, wood, clinical waste, and so on, and a few others were included in the list of products to be recycled. Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
Some factors are important to look into when hiring a skip. We understand all of these factors on skip hiring pricing at Norris West-Ealing, and we have taken it upon ourselves to briefly help you understand as well. Regional Pricing – skip hire costs are different in each region. A skip priced at £50 in London, for example, may be priced at £20 in West-Ealing. Time duration on the hire is another factor that affects pricing, when you want to keep a skip for a long period of time, you’ll have to pay more. Keeping in mind there are time limits on skip hire permits too. Limitations and Restrictions – no matter the size of a skip, it will still have a weight limit. You need to know about what limitations or restrictions your skip hire service provider may have. Some items are prohibited from being put in the skips, find out what they are, and obey the restrictions so you don’t get a fine or sanction.
Issues with renting skips in West-Ealing
Skip hire is not always easy, you have to get the right one, and there’s more stress if you need a permit- we know all of this at Norris West-Ealing. Some of the issues with renting skips in West-Ealing are local council laws, pedestrian only lanes, little or no space in front, small gardens, not enough parking space, narrow paths, congestion zones, double yellow lines, and red routes. We know that the population in West-Ealing is increasing on a daily basis, meaning getting a space to place a skip will soon become more difficult. You can avoid the stress of hiring skips and getting permits by hiring our waste disposal service instead.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
A new waste licensing system was put in place in 1994 to replace the Control of Pollution Act of 1974 on the regulation of deposits, recovery, and removal of “controlled waste”. Liquid or solid waste from industrial, commercial, and household processes are called controlled wastes. Personal garden waste disposal does not require the use of the license. To acquire the permit, all applicants need to show they are fit to hold it. The Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) certificate is often presented by people applying to own new sites, to show they are “technically competent”.
The duty of care for people who manage creating, bringing in, movement, storing, treating and removing controlled waste is specified in section 34 of the act. It stated that “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” There are also the special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005, that regulates how waste should be disposed of.
Skip Hire Permits
If you’re going to place a skip you hired for a construction project on public land, you need a skip hire permit. Using land that is not yours to place the skip means you must have a skip hire permit. Federal highways, streets, government roads, and land owned by any third party are those that require skip hire permits. A skip hire isn’t necessary when you have land to use and won’t be crossing into another person’s land or government owned land. Your skip could be removed and seized, however, if it extends into land that isn’t yours or that of those involved in your project, you even be fined. Getting a skip hire permit can cost as low as £20, based on the skip size and council you have to get the permit from. There are also skip hire permits for a lot more than £20, including £60, £80 and £100. Any questions you have on pricing can be answered at the local council office. We make it our business at Norris West-Ealing to make skip hiring easy for you. Why bother then with getting a skip hire permit when we can get it done for you, along with delivering the skip you hire? We include the cost of getting ski hire permits in our online quotes when you request them, which can be removed if you already have land or a place on which to put the skip. We provide skip hire services along with permits that last for up to 14 days. Call us today on 020 8698 8000 and we will provide you with any details you might need on our skip hire permits and waste management services.

Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
For a while now, there have been recycling targets set by the Environmental Agency and government. These targets are upheld by us at Norris West-Ealing and here they are: The aim of the Environmental Agency is to see to the improvement and protection of the environment in England and Wales. Many government organisations and local authorities are in place to ensure recycling targets are met, and that areas needing environmental services receive the services they have available. The aim of the agency is also to make sure the quality of land, air and water gets better constantly. They implement efforts to control environmental pollution and further encourage the conservation of plants, animals and other natural resources. That’s not all! The body also enlightens the general populace on issues regarding the environment, improving waste removal standards, encouraging the recycling of household products to reduce the quantity of waste, and lots more. You can reach the Environmental agency at their office in your region, their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD, or call them on 08 708 506 506. As for Government Targets, a landfill directive was released. It gives a recommended target on how much the amount of waste needs to be reduced for landfilling spots in the United Kingdom. Inclusions were made for landfills to only take treated waste from 2007. From the most recent year, the targets are the following: The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used in landfills in the UK by 2015 shouldn’t exceed 35% of what was taken in 1995. The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used for landfills in the UK by 2013 shouldn’t exceed 50% of what was taken in 1995. The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used for landfills in the UK by 2010 shouldn’t exceed 75% of what was taken in 1995. Furthermore, the following targets were introduced by the Waste Strategy 2000, for waste recovery and to make the landfill directive achievable: 67% of waste should be recovered as of 2015, 45% of waste should be recovered as of 2010, 40% of waste should be recovered as of 2005.
The government published, in the Waste Strategy 2000, the following natural recycling targets:
33% of household waste must be composted or recycled as of 2015. Household waste that is composted or recycled in 2010 should be at 30%. 25% of household waste must be composted or recycled as of 2005, even though local authorities had a 30% target in the same year. A ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” was set up by the government to move the efforts of the local authorities towards more recycling and reduction of waste, and for landfill diversion. Wood, vehicles, composting, clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electricals and electronics, computers, and more are recyclable.
