We at Norris St-Giles acknowledge these targets and here they are: The aim of the Environmental Agency is to see to the protection and improvement of the environment in Wales and England. Several other local authorities and organisations work with the Environmental Agency to achieve its aims, and to provide other environmental services to areas in need of it. The Environmental Agency continuously strives to improve water, land, and air quality. Animals, plants and other natural resources, as well as environmental pollution, are conserved and controlled respectively by them through effort implementation. It doesn’t end there! The Environmental Agency is determined to educate the people on anything to do with the environment, improve waste disposal standards, and improve the recycling of household items in order to reduce their quantity. You can contact the Environmental Agency office in your region, or visit the head office in Bristol at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. Telephone: 08708 506 506. As for Government Targets, a landfill directive was released. The directive released contains government targets aimed at reducing the amount of waste taken to landfill spots in the UK. The target is set to take effect from the most recent year and they are: That the amount of waste taken to landfill spots in the UK by 2015 be only 35% of the amount taken in 1995. That waste quantity taken to landfill sites be 50% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2015. That the amount of waste taken to landfill spots in the UK by 2010 be only 75% of the amount taken in 1995 The Waste Strategy of 2000 introduced the following targets to aid waste recovery and to make the landfill directive achievable: 45% of waste is to be recovered as of 2010, while 67% and 40% of waste should be recovered as of 2015 and 2005 respectively. For the natural recycling targets, you’ll find them published by the government in the Waste Strategy 2000. Here are the targets: The target projects that, as of 2015, 33% of household waste should either be recycled or composted. By 2010, 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled. By 2005, 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled, while that of each local authority was 30% as in the same year. The government, in its quest to reduce waste, for landfill diversion, and to assist local authorities in more recycling, has issued a “Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant”. Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
There a couple of factors that should be taken into consideration when hiring a skip. At Norris St-Giles, we understand these factors and will briefly explain them to you. Regional Pricing – the cost of hiring a skip differs from region to region. You may get a skip for £50 in London and get the same skip for £20 in St-Giles. The length of time you want the skip for will also affect its pricing; the longer you want it for, the higher the cost. Keeping in mind there are time limits on skip hire permits too. Limitations and Restrictions – skips usually have weight limits even with their sizes. Ask about restrictions on the skip you’re hiring from your service provider. Some items are prohibited from being put in the skips, find out what they are, and obey the restrictions so you don’t get a fine or sanction.
Issues with renting skips in St-Giles
We know at Norris St-Giles that hiring the right skip can be exhausting- more so if it involves getting a skip hire permit. Issues to be considered when hiring a skip in St-Giles are local council laws, red routes, double yellow lines, narrow paths, congestion zones, small front space, pedestrian only lanes and red routes. At the rate at which St-Giles is growing in population, skip hiring will become more and more difficult. However, you can make use of our rubbish removal services, instead of worrying about renting a skip and hustling for a skip hire permit.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
In 1994, another waste licensing system replaced the 1974 Control of Pollution Act for “controlled waste” regulation – deposit, recovery and removal. Liquid or solid waste from industrial, commercial, and household processes are called controlled wastes. If you only do personal garden waste removal, however, you do not require the license. To be granted the license, whoever is applying is required to confirm their ability to hold it. Anyone applying to own a new site has to have the Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) certificate, which proves they are “technically competent”.
Those involved in the creation, bringing in, conveyance, storage, treatment or removal of controlled waste have their own duty of care in section 34 of the Act. The following was stated in the Act: “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” Waste disposal methods are regulated by special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005.
Skip Hire Permits
To place a skip for a construction project on any public land, you need a skip hire permit. Skip hire permits are necessary for situations where you need to place a skip on a piece of land or in a space that isn’t yours. This land could be a federal highway, government road, a street, or could be owned by a third party. A skip hire isn’t necessary when you have land to use and won’t be crossing into another person’s land or government owned land. Your skip could be removed and seized, however, if it extends into land that isn’t yours or that of those involved in your project, you even be fined. With £20, you can get a skip hire permit, but charges may differ because of the skip size or council who issue the permit. There are more expensive skip hire permits; for about £60, £80 and £100. The council office is a good place to get all the pricing details you need. We make it our business at Norris St-Giles to make skip hiring easy for you. You don’t need the hassle involved with getting a skip hire permit because we can get it for you as we deliver your choice of skip. The cost of getting a skip hire permit is often added to the online quote you request , although this won’t matter if you have space or land for keeping the skip. The permits we have available alongside our skip hire services can serve for up to 14 days. We are always available on 020 8698 8000 to provide you with details on skip hire and other waste disposal services we have.

Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
Recycling targets were created by the Environmental Agency and government some time ago. We recognize these recycling targets at Norris St-Giles and here they are: The goal of the Environmental Agency is to secure the protection and improvement of the environment in England and Wales. There are many government organisations and local authorities that have the duty of making sure these targets are achieved and the services they have available get to the environments that need them. The Environmental Agency also endeavors to make sure land, air and water are constantly improved in terms of quality. They set up systems to regulate environmental pollution, and also promote the preservation of plants, animals and other natural resources. That’s not all! The body also enlightens the general populace on issues regarding the environment, improving waste removal standards, encouraging the recycling of household products to reduce the quantity of waste, and lots more. The Environmental Agency can be contacted on 08708 506 506 or through their office in your locality, or their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. To handle Government Targets, a landfill directive was issued. It specifies the targets needed to lower the quantity of waste removed to landfill areas in the UK. Inclusions were made for landfills to only take treated waste from 2007. Find the targets below, starting from the most recent year: In 2015, only 35% of the waste collected for filling UK landfill sites in 1995 should be collected. Only 50% of the waste taken in 1995 should be taken for landfill sites in the UK in 2013. No more that 75% of the waste retrieved to use for landfill sites in the UK should be retrieved by 2010 The Waste Strategy 2000 included the following targets, as a way of making sure waste is recovered and the landfill directive is reached: Of all the waste, 67% should be recovered in 2015, 45% of it recovered in 2010, and 40% of it recovered in 2005.
The government published, in the Waste Strategy 2000, the following natural recycling targets:
Household waste that is composted or recycled in 2015 should make up 33% of total waste. No less than 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2010. No less than 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2005, local authorities were set at 30% for the same year. A ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” was set up by the government to move the efforts of the local authorities towards more recycling and reduction of waste, and for landfill diversion. The following materials can be recycled: wood, clinical waste, metal, building materials, batteries, paper, printer, cartridges, plastic, electricals and electronics, computers, composting, and various others.
