Waste Recycling Targets
For some time now, the government and the Environmental Agency have set certain recycling targets. We at Norris New-Southgate acknowledge these targets and here they are: The Environmental Agency’s duty is to protect and better the environment of England and Wales. There are several government organisations and local authorities they work with to ensure that their targets are met, and that other environmental services they have to offer get to the areas where they are needed. The agency also seeks to better the quality of water, land, and air continuously. The agency strives to control environmental pollution and promote the conservation of animals, land, and natural resources. It gets better! The body also enlightens the general populace on issues regarding the environment, improving waste removal standards, encouraging the recycling of household products to reduce the quantity of waste, and lots more. Reach out to the Environmental Agency in your area, or you can call 08708 506 506 to contact their headquarters located in Bristol at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. Concerning the targets set by the government, they have released a directive. The directive released contains government targets aimed at reducing the amount of waste taken to landfill spots in the UK. From the recent year, the targets include: That the amount of waste taken to landfill spots in the UK by 2015 be only 35% of the amount taken in 1995. That the amount of waste taken to landfill spots in the UK by 2013 be only 50% of the amount taken in 1995. That waste quantity taken to landfill sites be 75% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2010. To help make the landfill directive achievable and recover waste, the following targets were also introduced by the Waste Strategy 2000: As at 2015, 67% of waste should be recovered, 45% of waste should be recovered as of 2010, while 40% of waste should be recovered as of 2005. The natural recycling targets were published in the Waste Strategy 2000 by the government. Here are the targets: By 2015, 33% of household waste should be composted or recycled. By 2010, 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled. The target projects that, as of 2005, 25% of household waste should either be recycled or composted, and every single local authority was to be 30% in the same year. A ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” was issued by the government to assist local authorities in more recycling, reduction of waste, and for landfill diversions. Recyclable materials were listed, which include: wood, vehicles, clinical waste, building materials, composting, printer cartridges, batteries, paper, computers, plastic, glass, furniture, oil, metal, electronic and electricals, and so on. Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
A number of factors matter and have to be looked into when you want to hire a skip. All these factors are well understood by us at Norris New-Southgatex, and we are going to briefly help you understand as well. Regional Pricing – the cost of hiring a skip differs from region to region. A skip that would cost you £50 in London, for instance, may cost you less in New-Southgate. How long you want to keep the skip will affect the price of the skip. The longer the period of time you intend to keep it, the more likely you are to pay a higher amount. Taking into consideration that skip hire permits have a time duration. Limitations and Restrictions – different skip sizes also have different weight limits. Ask about restrictions on the skip you’re hiring from your service provider. Some items are prohibited from being put in the skips, find out what they are, and obey the restrictions so you don’t get a fine or sanction.
Issues with renting skips in New-Southgate
Skip hire is not always easy, you have to get the right one, and there’s more stress if you need a permit- we know all of this at Norris New-Southgate. Some of the issues with renting skips in New-Southgate are local council laws, pedestrian only lanes, little or no space in front, small gardens, not enough parking space, narrow paths, congestion zones, double yellow lines, and red routes. We are also aware of the increasing population in New-Southgate, which will mean increased difficulty in skip hiring in the near future. You don’t have to worry about skip hiring and acquiring a permit, we can provide waste disposal services instead.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
For “controlled waste” deposit, recovery and removal regulation, a new waste licensing system replaced the 1974 Control of Pollution Act in 1994. Liquid or solid waste from industrial, commercial, and household processes are called controlled wastes. Personal garden waste disposal does not require the use of the license. Proof of fitness to hold the license determines if it will be granted. Applications for new site ownership need to be accompanied by the Waste Management Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) certificate as proof of “technical competence”.
Those involved in the creation, bringing in, conveyance, storage, treatment or removal of controlled waste have their own duty of care in section 34 of the Act. It stated that “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” Waste disposal methods are regulated by special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005.
Skip Hire Permits
You need a skip hire permit if you want to hire a skip for a construction project and will have to place it on public land. In regards to the land or space you would be placing the skip on that isn’t yours, you need a skip hire permit. It could be land that belongs to a third party, a federal highway, government road, or along the street. A skip hire isn’t necessary when you have land to use and won’t be crossing into another person’s land or government owned land. Your skip could be removed and seized, however, if it extends into land that isn’t yours or that of those involved in your project, you even be fined. You can get a skip hire permit for £20, although the skip size and issuing council would also affect the cost. There are skip hire permits that may cost as much as £60, £80, and up to £100 sometimes. The local council office can provide you with the specifics you need on pricing. We want to ensure you have a much easier skip hire process at Norris New-Southgate. We can get you a skip hire permit and deliver the skip you hire to save you stress. Request an online quote and we will include the cost of getting a skip hire permit, which would be excluded, of course, if you have property to use. The permits we have available alongside our skip hire services can serve for up to 14 days. Call us today on 020 8698 8000 and we will provide you with any details you might need on our skip hire permits and waste management services.

Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
There are recycling targets put in place by the Environmental Agency and government. We at Norris New-Southgate acknowledge these targets and here they are: The Environmental Agency is on a mission to make sure the environment in England and Wales is improved and protected. Some government organisations and local authorities are tasked with the job of meeting their targets and making sure other environmental services available get to needed locations. The agency aspires to ensure regular improvements in the quality of land, air and water as well. They implement steps that aim to control pollution in the environment, encouraging efforts towards preserving natural resources as well. That isn’t even all! The body provides public education on environmental matters as well, supporting the recycling of household waste to reduce the quantity. You can visit them at their office in your region, or their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. You can also call them on 08 708 506 506. To handle Government Targets, a landfill directive was issued. The amount of waste that requires a reduction for landfilling purposes in the UK is specified. It further stated that, from 2007, landfills were to only take untreated waste. Beginning from the most recent year, here are the target: The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2015 should be 35% of what was taken in 1995. The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2013 should be 50% of what was taken in 1995. The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used for landfills in the UK by 2010 shouldn’t exceed 75% of what was taken in 1995. In addition to that, the Waste Strategy 2000 introduced the following targets, to recover waste and meet the landfill directive: 67% of the waste must be recovered by 2015, 45% must be recovered by 2010, and 40% must be recovered by 2005.
The natural recycling targets were published in the Waste Strategy 2000 by the government. These targets were:
33% of household waste has to be composted or recycled in 2015. By 2010, 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled. 25% of household waste must be composted or recycled as of 2005, even though local authorities had a 30% target in the same year. A ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” was issued by the government to assist local authorities in more recycling, reduction of waste, and landfill diversions. A list of materials that can be recycled include: wood, vehicles, composting, clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electricals and electronics, computers, and a few others.
