That waste quantity taken to landfill sites be 50% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2015. The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2010 should be 75% of what was taken in 1995. The government published the natural recycling targets by the Waste Strategy 2000. The following are the targets: Composting and recycling should be carried out on 33% of household waste as of 2015. By the year 2010, 30% of household waste should be either recycled or it should be composted. 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled, and local authorities were set at 30% both by 2005. To assist local authorities in recycling more waste, reducing waste, and for landfill diversion, the government issued a ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant”. Clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electrical and electronics, vehicles, wood, clinical waste, and so on, and a few others were included in the list of products to be recycled. Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
Skip hire pricing factors need to be well considered before hiring a skip. We at Norris West-Farleigh understand these skip hire pricing factors, and we have decided to give you a brief explanation of each of them. Regional Pricing – every region has its own skip hire cost. You may get a skip for £50 in London and get the same skip for £20 in West-Farleigh. Pricing is also influenced by how long you want to keep the skip, the more time you want it, the higher the cost would likely be. Remembering as well that skip hire permits have a time frame and expiry dates. Limitations and Restrictions – every skip can only take a certain amount of weight regardless of their size. Make enquiries from your service provider on the limitations they might have. You may get fined or sanctioned if you put products in the skip that are not allowed, which is why you need to find out if there are any such products.
Issues with renting skips in West-Farleigh
We know at Norris West-Farleigh that hiring the right skip can be exhausting- more so if it involves getting a skip hire permit. Some of the issues with renting skips in West-Farleigh are local council laws, pedestrian only lanes, little or no space in front, small gardens, not enough parking space, narrow paths, congestion zones, double yellow lines, and red routes. With the rising population in West-Farleigh, skip hiring will soon be a more challenging feat. Alternative to kip hiring and getting a hire permit, our waste disposal services are available for your use.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
A new waste licensing system was put in place in 1994 to replace the Control of Pollution Act of 1974 on the regulation of deposits, recovery, and removal of “controlled waste”. Controlled wastes are wastes from industrial, commercial, and household processes in solid or liquid form. Personal garden waste disposal does not require the use of the license. In order to have the license, the person applying has to show that they are fit to hold it. Anyone applying to own a new site has to have the Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) certificate, which proves they are “technically competent”.
People who create, bring in, convey, store, treat, or remove controlled waste were given a new duty of care in section 34 of the Act. It stated that “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” Waste disposal regulation is handled by special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005.
Skip Hire Permits
If you’re going to place a skip you hired for a construction project on public land, you need a skip hire permit. In regards to the land or space you would be placing the skip on that isn’t yours, you need a skip hire permit. The land in question may be that of a third party, a street, a government road, or a federal highway. You can use your own land or space without a skip hire permit if you have it, only ensuring you don’t cross into land that isn’t yours. If you happen to cross into someone else’s land who isn’t a part of your project, or invade another person’s privacy with the skip, it could be seized or you could be fined. Depending on your location and the size of the skip involved, £20 should be able to get you a skip hire permit. There are skip hire permits that may cost as much as £60, £80, and up to £100 sometimes. The local council office can provide you with the specifics you need on pricing. However, it’s our duty at Norris West-Farleigh to make your skip hire a smooth process. Why bother then with getting a skip hire permit when we can get it done for you, along with delivering the skip you hire? The cost of getting a skip hire permit is often added to the online quote you request , although this won’t matter if you have space or land for keeping the skip. The permits we provide with skip hire services last as long as 14 days. We are always available on 020 8698 8000 to provide you with details on skip hire and other waste disposal services we have.

Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
For a while now, there have been recycling targets set by the Environmental Agency and government. We uphold these set recycling rules at Norris West-Farleigh and you can find them below: The Environmental Agency aims to make sure the Englands’ and Wales’ environment can improve and is protected. Many government organisations and local authorities are in place to ensure recycling targets are met, and that areas needing environmental services receive the services they have available. The agency aspires to ensure regular improvements in the quality of land, air and water as well. They work towards the control of pollution in the environment and encourage the protection of natural resources like plants and animals. It doesn’t end there! The body educates the public on environmental matters, like better waste removal standards, by promoting the recycling of household waste to reduce how much waste they have. The Environmental Agency can be contacted on 08708 506 506 or through their office in your locality, or their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. With respect to Government Targets, a landfill directive was released. It states that targets for lowering the quantity of waste taken to landfill spots in the United Kingdom. It also added, from 2007, that landfills shouldn’t take waste that hasn’t been treated. Find the targets below, starting from the most recent year: In 2015, only 35% of the waste collected for filling UK landfill sites in 1995 should be collected. The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used for landfills in the UK by 2013 shouldn’t exceed 50% of what was taken in 1995. The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used for landfills in the UK by 2010 shouldn’t exceed 75% of what was taken in 1995. Also added by the Waste Strategy 2000 were the following targets, to ensure 75% waste recovery and the achievement of the landfill directive, the following waste percentages have to be recovered: 67% in 2015, 45% in 2010 and 40% in 2005.
The government published, in the Waste Strategy 2000, the following natural recycling targets:
No less than 33% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2015. By 2010, 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled. By 2005, 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled – while that of each local authority was 30% as of the same year. A ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” was set up by the government to move the efforts of the local authorities towards more recycling and reduction of waste, and for landfill diversion. Here is list of materials that can be recycled: plastic, electricals and electronics, computers, composting, wood, clinical waste, metal, building materials, batteries, paper, printer, cartridges and a lot of others.
