The government and the Environmental Agency have set new targets to be reached by all recycling agencies. Norris Otham experts recognize these targets, which are: The mission of the Environmental Agency is to ensure the improvement and protection of the environment in England and Wales. There are several government organisations and local authorities they work with to ensure that their targets are met, and that other environmental services they have to offer get to the areas where they are needed. The Environmental Agency also strives to improve the quality of water, land, and air continuously. They implement efforts to control environmental pollution, and further encourage the conservation of plants, animals, and other natural resources. It doesn’t end there! The Environmental Agency is determined to educate the people on anything to do with the environment, improve waste disposal standards, and improve the recycling of household items in order to reduce their quantity. The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2013 should be 50% of what was taken in 1995. That waste quantity taken to landfill sites be 75% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2010. The following targets were also introduced by the Waste Strategy of 2000 to recover waste and help in achieving the landfill directive: As at 2015, 67% of waste should be recovered, 45% of waste should be recovered as of 2010, while 40% of waste should be recovered as of 2005. Contained in the Waste Strategy 2000 are the natural recycling targets published by the government. Here are the targets: 33% of household waste should be composted or recycled by 2015. By the year 2010, 30% of household waste should be either recycled or it should be composted. 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled, and local authorities were set at 30% both by 2005. The government has issued a grant to help local authorities in more recycling, reducing waste, and for landfill diversion, known as the ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant”. Here is a list of recyclable materials: computers, printer cartridges, glass, oil, electrical and electronics, furniture, batteries, paper, vehicles, clinical waste, metal, and a variety of others. Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
A number of factors matter and have to be looked into when you want to hire a skip. We at Norris Otham understand these skip hire pricing factors, and we have decided to give you a brief explanation of each of them. Regional Pricing – skip hire costs are different in each region. A skip priced at £50 in London, for example, may be priced at £20 in Otham. The longer you need to hold on to a skip, the more expensive the skip will be, because pricing is affected by time as well. Remembering as well that skip hire permits have a time frame and expiry dates. Limitations and Restrictions – every skip can only take a certain amount of weight regardless of their size. You need to know about what limitations or restrictions your skip hire service provider may have. Find out what products aren’t allowed in the skip and follow the restrictions, to avoid being sanctioned or fined.
Issues with renting skips in Otham
The process of hiring a skip is often difficult, especially if you want to get a skip hire permit as well. We know about all of these difficulties at Norris Otham. Issues to be considered when hiring a skip in Otham are local council laws, red routes, double yellow lines, narrow paths, congestion zones, small front space, pedestrian only lanes and red routes. At the rate at which Otham is growing in population, skip hiring will become more and more difficult. You can avoid the stress of hiring skips and getting permits by hiring our waste disposal service instead.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
The regulation of waste deposits, and the recovery and removal of “controlled waste” is handled by the waste licensing system that was put in place in 1994, replacing the 1974 Control of Pollution Act. Liquid or solid waste from industrial, commercial, and household processes are called controlled wastes. However, people who are just disposing of waste from their personal garden were exempted from the need of the license. Proof of fitness to hold the license determines if it will be granted. “Technical competence” is something an applicant for new site ownership needs to show by having the Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) certificate .
The duty of care for people who manage creating, bringing in, movement, storing, treating and removing controlled waste is specified in section 34 of the act. The Act stated as follows: “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” The special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005 are in charge of controlling the way waste is disposed.
Skip Hire Permits
If you’re going to place a skip you hired for a construction project on public land, you need a skip hire permit. Using land that is not yours to place the skip means you must have a skip hire permit. These lands include federal highways and government roads, third party owned lands, and land along streets. If you have land or property you intend to used, you don’t need a skip hire permit, as long as it won’t intrude on land that isn’t yours. If you happen to cross into someone else’s land who isn’t a part of your project, or invade another person’s privacy with the skip, it could be seized or you could be fined. With £20, you can get a skip hire permit, but charges may differ because of the skip size or council who issue the permit. There are also skip hire permits that cost £60, £80, and even as much as £100. The council office is a good place to get all the pricing details you need. We want to ensure you have a much easier skip hire process at Norris Otham. We also provide skip hire permit procurement along with skip delivery to make the whole process stress free. The cost of getting a skip hire permit is often added to the online quote you request , although this won’t matter if you have space or land for keeping the skip. The permits we provide with skip hire services last as long as 14 days. Call us today on 020 8698 8000 and we will provide you with any details you might need on our skip hire permits and waste management services.

Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
Recycling targets were created by the Environmental Agency and government some time ago. At Norris Otham, we acknowledge these set recycling targets and they are as follows: The aim of the Environmental Agency is to see to the improvement and protection of the environment in England and Wales. A lot government organisations and local authorities are in place to make sure they reach their targets, and that areas that need environmental services get the ones they have to offer. The aim of the agency is also to make sure the quality of land, air and water gets better constantly. They implement efforts to control environmental pollution and further encourage the conservation of plants, animals and other natural resources. That’s not all! The body also enlightens the general populace on issues regarding the environment, improving waste removal standards, encouraging the recycling of household products to reduce the quantity of waste, and lots more. You can reach the Environmental agency at their office in your region, their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD, or call them on 08 708 506 506. To handle Government Targets, a landfill directive was issued. It gives a recommended target on how much the amount of waste needs to be reduced for landfilling spots in the United Kingdom. It added as well that landfills from 2007 should only take waste that has been treated. From the most recent year, the targets are the following: The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used in landfills in the UK by 2015 shouldn’t exceed 35% of what was taken in 1995. In 2013, only 50% of the waste collected for filling UK landfill sites in 1995 should be collected. No more that 75% of the waste retrieved to use for landfill sites in the UK should be retrieved by 2010 Also, these targets were introduced by Waste Strategy 2000, for the recovery of waste and achieving the landfill directive: y 2015, 67% of the waste has to be recovered, 45% recovered by 2010, 40% by 2005.
The targets for natural recycling were published in the Waste Strategy 2000 by the government. They include:
33% of household waste must be composted or recycled as of 2015. 30% of household waste must be composted or recycled as of 2010. Household waste that is composted or recycled, in 2015, should be 25%, while the local authorities had a 30% target. The government released a ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” to assist in the recycling and reduction of waste and landfill diversions. A list of materials that can be recycled include: wood, vehicles, composting, clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electricals and electronics, computers, and a few others.
