Issues with renting skips in Broomfield-and-Kingswood
Skip hire is not always easy, you have to get the right one, and there’s more stress if you need a permit- we know all of this at Norris Broomfield-and-Kingswood. Some of the issues with renting skips in Broomfield-and-Kingswood are local council laws, pedestrian only lanes, little or no space in front, small gardens, not enough parking space, narrow paths, congestion zones, double yellow lines, and red routes. We know that the growing population in Broomfield-and-Kingswood will mean a more difficult skip hiring process soon. You don’t have to worry about skip hiring and acquiring a permit, we can provide waste disposal services instead.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
The regulation of waste deposits, and the recovery and removal of “controlled waste” is handled by the waste licensing system that was put in place in 1994, replacing the 1974 Control of Pollution Act. Controlled wastes are wastes from industrial, commercial, and household processes in solid or liquid form. If you only do personal garden waste removal, however, you do not require the license. To be granted the license, whoever is applying is required to confirm their ability to hold it. If an applicant wishes to own a new site, they have to show how “technically competent” they are by possessing the (WAMITAB) certificate, this is the the Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board.
In section 34 of the act, the duty of care for all those who make, bring in, move, treat, store or remove controlled waste is available. The following was stated in the Act: “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” The special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005 are in charge of controlling the way waste is disposed.
Skip Hire Permits
A skip hire permit is a must have for skips hired for construction projects with the intention of placing them on any public land. Using land that is not yours to place the skip means you must have a skip hire permit. Federal highways, streets, government roads, and land owned by any third party are those that require skip hire permits. You don’t need a skip hire permit if you have your own land and won’t be intruding on government or third party-owned land. You risk being fined or having the skip removed and seized if you do not ensure your skip doesn’t cross out of your own land and into someone’s space. Getting a skip hire permit can cost as low as £20, based on the skip size and council you have to get the permit from. Some skip hire permits cost higher than £20, possibly £60, £80, and up to £100. The local council office can provide you with the specifics you need on pricing. We make it our business at Norris Broomfield-and-Kingswood to make skip hiring easy for you. So why go through the stress of getting a skip hire permit when we can get it for you, while we deliver the skip you require? We include the cost of getting ski hire permits in our online quotes when you request them, which can be removed if you already have land or a place on which to put the skip. The permits we have available alongside our skip hire services can serve for up to 14 days. Contact us today on 020 8698 8000 to find out more about skip hire permits and other services we have made available for you.

There are several government organisations and local authorities they work with to ensure that their targets are met, and other environmental services they have to offer get to areas where they are needed. The Environmental Agency also endeavors to make sure land, air and water are constantly improved in terms of quality. They implement efforts to control environmental pollution and further encourage the conservation of plants, animals and other natural resources. They don’t stop there either! The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used for landfills in the UK by 2010 shouldn’t exceed 75% of what was taken in 1995. Also added by the Waste Strategy 2000 were the following targets, to ensure 75% waste recovery and the achievement of the landfill directive, the following waste percentages have to be recovered: 67% in 2015, 45% in 2010 and 40% in 2005.
The targets for natural recycling were published in the Waste Strategy 2000 by the government. They include:
No less than 33% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2015. 30% of household waste must be composted or recycled as of 2010. No less than 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2005, local authorities were set at 30% for the same year. To help the local authorities recycle more and reduce waste and for landfill diversions, a “Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” was released by the government. Recyclable materials include the following and more: metal, building materials, batteries, paper, printer, cartridges, plastic, wood, clinical waste electricals and electronics, computers, and composting
