Government Issued Recycling Targets
For some time now, the government and the Environmental Agency have set certain recycling targets. Norris Basingstoke experts recognize these targets, which are: The mission of the Environmental Agency is to ensure the improvement and protection of the environment in England and Wales. Several other local authorities and organisations work with the Environmental Agency to achieve its aims, and to provide other environmental services to areas in need of it. It is also their mission to raise the quality of water, land, and air constantly. They implement efforts to control environmental pollution, and further encourage the conservation of plants, animals, and other natural resources. There are still other things! They also educate people on issues that are related to the environment, promote household product recycling to reduce its quantity, better waste disposal standards, and so on. With the telephone number – 08708 506 506, you can contact the Environmental Agency head office in Bristol at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD, or contact their office in your region. A landfill directive has been released in relation to Government Targets. The directive sets out all the targets to be reached, which will see a decrease of the quantity of waste taken to different landfill spots in the United Kingdom. Starting from the most recent year, these are the targets: By 2015, the waste taken to landfill sites around the United Kingdom should be 35% of what was taken in 1995. That the amount of waste taken to landfill spots in the UK by 2013 be only 50% of the amount taken in 1995. That waste quantity taken to landfill sites be 75% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2010. To help make the landfill directive achievable and recover waste, the following targets were also introduced by the Waste Strategy 2000: 45% of all waste should be recovered by the end of 2010, 67% of waste should be recovered by 2015, while 40% of waste be recovered as of 2005. Contained in the Waste Strategy 2000 are the natural recycling targets published by the government. The following are the targets: By 2015, 33% of household waste should be composted or recycled. By the year 2010, 30% of household waste should be either recycled or it should be composted. By 2005, 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled, while that of each local authority was 30% as in the same year. To assist local authorities in recycling more waste, reducing waste, and for landfill diversion, the government issued a ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant”. Clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electrical and electronics, vehicles, wood, clinical waste, and so on, and a few others were included in the list of products to be recycled. To be up to date on any new entry in the targets, especially in recent years, visit the Norris Basingstoke office at Basingstoke.

Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
Skip hire pricing factors need to be well considered before hiring a skip. We understand all of these factors on skip hiring pricing at Norris Basingstoke, and we have taken it upon ourselves to briefly help you understand as well. Regional pricing – skip hire costs differ by location, it could be higher or lower. A skip that would cost you £50 in London, for instance, may cost you less in Basingstoke. How long you want to keep the skip will affect the price of the skip. The longer the period of time you intend to keep it, the more likely you are to pay a higher amount. Keeping in mind there are time limits on skip hire permits too. Limitations and Restrictions – you can’t always put a huge amount of weight in a skip just because it looks big. You need to know about what limitations or restrictions your skip hire service provider may have. Ask if there are any items that aren’t allowed in the skip and stick to the restrictions if there are, so you won’t be sanctioned or fined.
Issues with renting skips in Basingstoke
At Norris Basingstoke, we understand that getting the perfect skip to hire can be a herculean task – especially with the difficulties that comes with getting a skip hire permit. The following concerns may be attached to skip hiring in Basingstoke: local council laws, double yellow lines, small gardens, narrow paths, congestion zones, limited front space, red routes, and pedestrian only lanes. We are also aware of the increasing population in Basingstoke, which will mean increased difficulty in skip hiring in the near future. You can avoid the stress of hiring skips and getting permits by hiring our waste disposal service instead.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
For “controlled waste” deposit, recovery and removal regulation, a new waste licensing system replaced the 1974 Control of Pollution Act in 1994. Liquid or solid waste from industrial, commercial, and household processes are called controlled wastes. Personal garden waste disposal does not require the use of the license. To be granted the license, whoever is applying is required to confirm their ability to hold it. Applications for new site ownership need to be accompanied by the Waste Management Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) certificate as proof of “technical competence”.
In section 34 of the act, the duty of care for all those who make, bring in, move, treat, store or remove controlled waste is available. It stated that “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” How waste is disposed of is controlled by special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005.
Skip Hire Permits
If you’re going to place a skip you hired for a construction project on public land, you need a skip hire permit. Skip hire permits have to be obtained when you need to use land that isn’t your property to place your skip. These lands include federal highways and government roads, third party owned lands, and land along streets. You don’t need a skip hire permit if you have your own land and won’t be intruding on government or third party-owned land. If you happen to cross into someone else’s land who isn’t a part of your project, or invade another person’s privacy with the skip, it could be seized or you could be fined. You can get a skip hire permit for £20, although the skip size and issuing council would also affect the cost. Some skip hire permits cost higher than £20, possibly £60, £80, and up to £100. The local council office can provide you with the specifics you need on pricing. We want to ensure you have a much easier skip hire process at Norris Basingstoke. You don’t need the hassle involved with getting a skip hire permit because we can get it for you as we deliver your choice of skip. We include the cost of getting ski hire permits in our online quotes when you request them, which can be removed if you already have land or a place on which to put the skip. The permits we have available alongside our skip hire services can serve for up to 14 days. We can be reached today on 020 8698 8000 if you want to know more about skip hire permits and other services we have in place for you.

Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
There are recycling targets put in place by the Environmental Agency and government. These targets are upheld by us at Norris Basingstoke and here they are: The Environmental Agency is on a mission to make sure the environment in England and Wales is improved and protected. There are many government organisations and local authorities that have the duty of making sure these targets are achieved and the services they have available get to the environments that need them. The Environmental Agency also endeavors to make sure land, air and water are constantly improved in terms of quality. They set up systems to regulate environmental pollution, and also promote the preservation of plants, animals and other natural resources. It doesn’t stop at that! They also provide enlightenment for people on better waste control methods such as recycling household waste. The Environmental Agency can be contacted on 08708 506 506 or through their office in your locality, or their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. A landfill directive was released to address Government Targets. It states how much the quantity of waste need to be lowered for the purpose of landfills in certain areas of the UK. It stated also that from 2007, landfills should only accept treated waste. From the most recent year, the targets are the following: In 2015, only 35% of the waste collected for filling UK landfill sites in 1995 should be collected. No more that 50% of the waste retrieved to use for landfill sites in the UK should be retrieved by 2013. In 2010, only 75% of the waste collected for filling UK landfill sites in 1995 should be collected. The Waste Strategy 2000 included the following targets, as a way of making sure waste is recovered and the landfill directive is reached: Of all the waste, 67% should be recovered in 2015, 45% of it recovered in 2010, and 40% of it recovered in 2005.
Natural recycling targets were published by the government in Waste Strategy 2000 and are:
By 2015, 33% of household waste should be composted or recycled. Household waste that is composted or recycled in 2010 should be at 30%. No less than 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2005, local authorities were set at 30% for the same year. The government released a ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” to assist in the recycling and reduction of waste and landfill diversions. A list of materials that can be recycled include: wood, vehicles, composting, clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electricals and electronics, computers, and a few others.
