It has almost 20% more space than the 6 yard skip, and it is just 1.9m by 3.4m in width. This skip can safely hold 100-115 filled black bin bags, or 40 barrow loads of builders waste and materials. It’s also good for large home removals.
- 10 Yard Skip Hire This skip works perfectly in large garden clearance and home removals. If you’re handling a commercial project, the 2.1m by 3.6m wide skip is available for hire at Norris East-Sussex. The 12 yard skip we have for hire at Norris East-Sussex is really big, and is suitable for large commercial projects and office or home clearances that will involve plenty of one time disposals. Government Issued Recycling Targets
All waste management agencies now have some recycling targets to meet, which are set by the Environmental Agency and the government. We at East-Sussex work towards the following government set targets: The Environmental Agency’s duty is to protect and better the environment of England and Wales. To better meet these targets and provide other environmental services to areas in need of them, the agency partners with several other organisations and local authorities. It is also their mission to raise the quality of water, land, and air constantly. Animals, plants and other natural resources, as well as environmental pollution, are conserved and controlled respectively by them through effort implementation. There are still other things! The Environmental Agency is determined to educate the people on anything to do with the environment, improve waste disposal standards, and improve the recycling of household items in order to reduce their quantity. With the telephone number – 08708 506 506, you can contact the Environmental Agency head office in Bristol at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD, or contact their office in your region. The directive sets out all the targets to be reached, which will see a decrease of the quantity of waste taken to different landfill spots in the United Kingdom. The targets, as of the most recent year, include: The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2015 should be 35% of what was taken in 1995. The waste taken to landfill spots in the UK should be 50% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2013. The waste taken to landfill spots in the UK should be 75% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2010. To help make the landfill directive achievable and recover waste, the following targets were also introduced by the Waste Strategy 2000: 45% of waste is to be recovered as of 2010, while 67% and 40% of waste should be recovered as of 2015 and 2005 respectively. The natural recycling targets were published in the Waste Strategy 2000 by the government. Here are the targets: The target projects that, as of 2015, 33% of household waste should either be recycled or composted. Composting and recycling should be carried out on 30% of household waste as at 2010. Composting and recycling should be carried out on 25% of household waste as of 2005, while each local authority was 30% in the same year. A ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” was issued by the government to assist local authorities in more recycling, reduction of waste, and for landfill diversions. A list of materials that can be recycled include: wood, vehicles, composting, clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electrical and electronics, computers, and various others. Regional Pricing – every region has its own skip hire cost. If you get a skip for £50 in London, for example, the same size might cost you just £20 in East-Sussex. Pricing is also influenced by how long you want to keep the skip, the more time you want it, the higher the cost would likely be. Keeping in mind there are time limits on skip hire permits too. Issues with renting skips in East-Sussex
At Norris East-Sussex, we understand that getting the perfect skip to hire can be a herculean task – especially with the difficulties that comes with getting a skip hire permit. Narrow paths, local council laws, small gardens, double yellow lines, red routes, pedestrian only lanes, congestion zones, limited space in front, and narrow paths are the issues which usually come up with skip renting in East-Sussex. With the rising population in East-Sussex, skip hiring will soon be a more challenging feat. Our waste management services are readily available if you wish to skip the whole task of skip hiring.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
The Control of Pollution Act of 1974 was replaced by a new waste licensing system in 1994 to regulate the deposit, recovery, and removal of “controlled waste”. Liquid or solid waste from industrial, commercial, and household processes are called controlled wastes. However, people who are just disposing of waste from their personal garden were exempted from the need of the license. In order to have the license, the person applying has to show that they are fit to hold it. Applications for new site ownership need to be accompanied by the Waste Management Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) certificate as proof of “technical competence”.
The duty of care for people who manage creating, bringing in, movement, storing, treating and removing controlled waste is specified in section 34 of the act. It was stated in the Act that “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” How waste is disposed of is controlled by special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005.
Skip Hire Permits
Do you want to hire a skip for a construction project that will involve placing it on public land? Then you will need a skip hire permit. Skip hire permits are necessary for situations where you need to place a skip on a piece of land or in a space that isn’t yours. Federal highways, streets, government roads, and land owned by any third party are those that require skip hire permits. You don’t need a skip hire permit if you have your own land and won’t be intruding on government or third party-owned land. Your skip could be removed and seized, however, if it extends into land that isn’t yours or that of those involved in your project, you even be fined. Getting a skip hire permit can cost as low as £20, based on the skip size and council you have to get the permit from. There are also skip hire permits for a lot more than £20, including £60, £80 and £100. You can contact the council office to find out more about the pricing if you wish. However, it’s our duty at Norris East-Sussex to make your skip hire a smooth process. We can get you a skip hire permit and deliver the skip you hire to save you stress. Our online quotes also include skip hire permit costs, which doesn’t matter if you have your own land or space on which to place the skip. We provide skip hire services along with permits that last for up to 14 days. We can be reached today on 020 8698 8000 if you want to know more about skip hire permits and other services we have in place for you.

Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
Recycling targets were created by the Environmental Agency and government some time ago. We uphold these set recycling rules at Norris East-Sussex and you can find them below: The Environmental Agency aims to make sure the Englands’ and Wales’ environment can improve and is protected. A lot government organisations and local authorities are in place to make sure they reach their targets, and that areas that need environmental services get the ones they have to offer. This agency also works to regularly improve the quality of water, land and air. They implement efforts to control environmental pollution and further encourage the conservation of plants, animals and other natural resources. That isn’t even all! The body provides public education on environmental matters as well, supporting the recycling of household waste to reduce the quantity. The Environmental Agency can be contacted on 08708 506 506 or through their office in your locality, or their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. A landfill directive was released to address Government Targets. It states that targets for lowering the quantity of waste taken to landfill spots in the United Kingdom. It also added, from 2007, that landfills shouldn’t take waste that hasn’t been treated. From the most recent year, the targets are the following: Only 35% of the waste taken in 1995 should be taken for landfill sites in the UK in 2015. In 2013, only 50% of the waste collected for filling UK landfill sites in 1995 should be collected. The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used for landfills in the UK by 2010 shouldn’t exceed 75% of what was taken in 1995. In addition to that, the Waste Strategy 2000 introduced the following targets, to recover waste and meet the landfill directive: 67% of the waste must be recovered by 2015, 45% must be recovered by 2010, and 40% must be recovered by 2005.
Waste Strategy 2000 had published in it, by the government, the natural recycling targets, which are as follows:
33% of household waste has to be composted or recycled in 2015. No less than 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2010. 25% of household waste has to be composted or recycled in 2005, although local authority was 30% in that same year. To help the local authorities recycle more and reduce waste and for landfill diversions, a “Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” was released by the government. Wood, vehicles, composting, clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electricals and electronics, computers, and more are recyclable.
