There are several government organisations and local authorities they work with to ensure that their targets are met, and that other environmental services they have to offer get to the areas where they are needed. It is also their mission to raise the quality of water, land, and air constantly. They implement efforts to control environmental pollution, and further encourage the conservation of plants, animals, and other natural resources. It gets better! The agency also puts effort in ensuring that people are up to date in environmental matters, raises waste removal standards and promotes the recycling of household products to significantly reduce the quantity of waste, among other objectives. Get in touch with the Environmental Agency office in your location, or you can find the head office in Bristol Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. Telephone: 08708 506 506. Concerning the targets set by the government, they have released a directive. Targets set for lowering the quantity of waste taken to landfill spots in the country is stated in the directive. The target is set to take effect from the most recent year and they are: The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2015 should be 35% of what was taken in 1995. That the amount of waste taken to landfill spots in the UK by 2013 be only 50% of the amount taken in 1995. By 2010, the waste taken to landfill sites around the United Kingdom should be 75% of what was taken in 1995. The following targets were also introduced by the Waste Strategy of 2000 to recover waste and help in achieving the landfill directive: 45% of all waste should be recovered by the end of 2010, 67% of waste should be recovered by 2015, while 40% of waste be recovered as of 2005. The natural recycling targets were published in the Waste Strategy 2000 by the government. These targets include: 33% of household waste should be composted or recycled by 2015. By 2010, 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled. By 2005, 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled, while that of each local authority was 30% as in the same year. The government has issued a grant to help local authorities in more recycling, reducing waste, and for landfill diversion, known as the ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant”. Materials like batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electrical and electronics, vehicles, wood, clinical waste, building materials, and so on, have been listed as recyclable. Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
When hiring a skip, some factors will be important and need to be thought about and considered properly. We understand all of these factors on skip hiring pricing at Norris Kingsbridge, and we have taken it upon ourselves to briefly help you understand as well. Regional Pricing – hiring a skip will cost something different in different regions. If you get a skip for £50 in London, for example, the same size might cost you just £20 in Kingsbridge. How long you want to keep the skip will affect the price of the skip. The longer the period of time you intend to keep it, the more likely you are to pay a higher amount. Also bearing in mind that skip hire permits only last for a set period of time as well. Limitations and Restrictions – different skip sizes also have different weight limits. Ask about restrictions on the skip you’re hiring from your service provider. Also, make enquiries about products that shouldn’t be put in it. Obey these restrictions to avoid any sanctions or fines.
Issues with renting skips in Kingsbridge
We know at Norris Kingsbridge that hiring the right skip can be exhausting- more so if it involves getting a skip hire permit. Some of the issues with renting skips in Kingsbridge are local council laws, pedestrian only lanes, little or no space in front, small gardens, not enough parking space, narrow paths, congestion zones, double yellow lines, and red routes. We know that the growing population in Kingsbridge will mean a more difficult skip hiring process soon. Alternative to kip hiring and getting a hire permit, our waste disposal services are available for your use.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
For “controlled waste” deposit, recovery and removal regulation, a new waste licensing system replaced the 1974 Control of Pollution Act in 1994. Controlled waste refers to liquid or solid industrial, commercial, and household wastes. The license is not needed by those who only dispose of waste from their personal gardens. Proof of fitness to hold the license determines if it will be granted. The Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) certificate is often presented by people applying to own new sites, to show they are “technically competent”.
Section 34 of the act includes the duty of care for people who are part of creating, bringing in, conveying, storing, treating, and removing controlled waste. The Act stated as follows: “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” Waste disposal methods are regulated by special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005.
Skip Hire Permits
You need a skip hire permit if you want to hire a skip for a construction project and will have to place it on public land. Skip hire permits have to be obtained when you need to use land that isn’t your property to place your skip. The land in question may be that of a third party, a street, a government road, or a federal highway. A skip hire isn’t necessary when you have land to use and won’t be crossing into another person’s land or government owned land. If you happen to cross into someone else’s land who isn’t a part of your project, or invade another person’s privacy with the skip, it could be seized or you could be fined. Depending on your location and the size of the skip involved, £20 should be able to get you a skip hire permit. There are also skip hire permits that cost £60, £80, and even as much as £100. You can contact the council office to find out more about the pricing if you wish. We want to ensure you have a much easier skip hire process at Norris Kingsbridge. So why go through the stress of getting a skip hire permit when we can get it for you, while we deliver the skip you require? Request an online quote and we will include the cost of getting a skip hire permit, which would be excluded, of course, if you have property to use. The permits we provide with skip hire services last as long as 14 days. We are always available on 020 8698 8000 to provide you with details on skip hire and other waste disposal services we have.
Tested skips with certificate
If it is your first experience skip hiring, you may have reservations about the safety and effectiveness of the skips when in use. At Norris Kingsbridge, we make sure you get the skip size you want, and make sure they are tested with certificates. Therefore, if you need a closed or open skip, you can rely on us to make it available to you with proof of efficiency and quality. Call us today on 020 8698 8000 and our experts will be available to answer all your queries. Another option is to come by our Kingsbridge office and we will provide the tested skip you want with certificate.
At Norris Kingsbridge, a lot of different waste types are acceptable to be put in our skips. But, there are some prohibited items that cannot go in our skips. We can get these products from you and have them treated depending on how hazardous they are. These restricted items are automotive oils and fluids, medical waste, car tyres, heavy duty batteries, gas canisters, television sets, air conditioning units, refrigerators, aerosols, and fluorescent light bulbs.
Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
A number of targets for recycling were set by the Environmental Agency and government. We uphold these set recycling rules at Norris Kingsbridge and you can find them below: The aim of the Environmental Agency is to see to the improvement and protection of the environment in England and Wales. Some government organisations and local authorities are tasked with the job of meeting their targets and making sure other environmental services available get to needed locations. This agency also works to regularly improve the quality of water, land and air. They set up systems to regulate environmental pollution, and also promote the preservation of plants, animals and other natural resources. They don’t stop there either! The body works to educate the general populace on environmental issues to improve waste handling standards, by encouraging more recycling of waste in the household to cut down on overall waste quantity. You can reach the Environmental agency at their office in your region, their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD, or call them on 08 708 506 506. A landfill directive was released because of Government Targets. It states how much the quantity of waste need to be lowered for the purpose of landfills in certain areas of the UK. It also added, from 2007, that landfills shouldn’t take waste that hasn’t been treated. Starting from the most recent year, these are the targets: Only 35% of the waste taken in 1995 should be taken for landfill sites in the UK in 2015. The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used for landfills in the UK by 2013 shouldn’t exceed 50% of what was taken in 1995. Only 75% of the waste taken in 1995 should be taken for landfill sites in the UK in 2010. Also, these targets were introduced by Waste Strategy 2000, for the recovery of waste and achieving the landfill directive: y 2015, 67% of the waste has to be recovered, 45% recovered by 2010, 40% by 2005.
Natural recycling targets were published by the government in Waste Strategy 2000 and are:
No less than 33% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2015. No less than 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2010. No less than 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2005, local authorities were set at 30% for the same year. To help the local authorities recycle more and reduce waste and for landfill diversions, a “Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” was released by the government. A list of materials that can be recycled include: wood, vehicles, composting, clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electricals and electronics, computers, and a few others.
