Skip Hire sizes
There are a wide range of skip sizes for hire here at Norris Beaconsfield. It doesn’t matter if it is an office clearing or home removal you have planned, we have the right skip sizes for everything. Whatever your project we have a skip size for you. Our skips are in sizes 2 yard, 4 yard, 6 yard, 8 yard, 10 yard, and 12 yard.
- 4 Yard Skip Hire You can also hire a 4 yard skip at Norris Beaconsfield. The 4 yard skip has two times the capacity of the 2 yard skip, at a height of 0.90 meters. It has more space for bigger materials, including electronic appliances, kitchen and bathroom refits, and even furniture, because it has a longer width of 1.5m by 2.5m. It can take as many as 45 to 50 black waste bags, and a little over 17 full barrow loads of waste. It will fit well into your garden clearance, or do-it-yourself project plan.
- 6 Yard Skip Hire This skip is ideal if you intend to do a home extension project or renovations on your office premises. The 6 yard skip is suitable for carrying builders waste and is available at Norris Beaconsfield. It works excellently for stashing away heavy waste and materials such as soil and stones. It’s around 1.8m by 3.2m wide, and can hold between 75 to 95 black bin bags, or 30 full barrow loads of building waste. This skip is probably the most used around your area.
- 8 Yard Skip Hire The 8 yard skip, which we have for hire, is suitable for very big projects such as home extensions. The 8 yard skip is very similar to the 6 yard skip, but it just has room for more items. It has almost 20% more space than the 6 yard skip, and it is just 1.9m by 3.4m in width. This skip can contain 100-115 full black waste bags with any issues, or 40 full barrow loads of slabs, soil, bricks and concrete. It’s also good for large home removals.
- 10 Yard Skip Hire The 10 yard skip is the one you want if you’re doing a large scale removal or garden clearance. Norris Beaconsfield has the 2.1m by 3.6m wide 10 yard skip available for hire for commercial projects. It can take as many as 52 full barrow loads of commercial waste, or 120-140 big waste bags at any time. It’s ideal for larger building projects, site clearance, or home removals.
- 12 Yard Skip Hire This is more like a small industrial skip. The 12 yard skip can serve for projects like site clearances, office clearances, and commercial projects that will require large amounts of waste disposal at once, and is available for hire at Norris Beaconsfield. With a width of 2.5m by 4.0m, this skip is also long enough to contain 150–185 black disposable bags at any time. This skip has enough room for up to 62 full barrow loads of concrete, soil, and other building waste.

Targets for Waste Recycling
The government and the Environmental Agency have set new targets to be reached by all recycling agencies. We at Beaconsfield work towards the following government set targets: The Environmental Agency’s duty is to protect and better the environment of England and Wales. The Environmental Agency does not meet its targets or offer other environmental services to areas that need it all alone, because they partner with several other local authorities and organisations to achieve these goals. The Environmental Agency also strives to improve the quality of water, land, and air continuously. The Environmental Agency encourages the conservation of animals, land, and natural resources, and controls environmental pollution by implementing certain efforts. It doesn’t end there! Among other things, the body enlightens the general populace on environmental issues, promotes the recycling of household products to decrease their piling up in large quantities, and educates on raising the standards of waste removal. With the telephone number – 08708 506 506, you can contact the Environmental Agency head office in Bristol at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD, or contact their office in your region. A landfill order has been issued concerning Government Targets. Targets set for lowering the quantity of waste taken to landfill spots in the country is stated in the directive. From the recent year, the targets include: The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2015 should be 35% of what was taken in 1995. The waste taken to landfill spots in the UK should be 50% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2013. The waste taken to landfill spots in the UK should be 75% of the amount taken in 1995 by 2010. The Waste Strategy of 2000 introduced the following targets to aid waste recovery and to make the landfill directive achievable: As at 2015, 67% of waste should be recovered, 45% of waste should be recovered as of 2010, while 40% of waste should be recovered as of 2005. Contained in the Waste Strategy 2000 are the natural recycling targets published by the government. Here are the targets: By the year 2015, 33% of household waste should either be recycled or it should be composted. The target projects that, as of 2010, 30% of household waste should either be recycled or composted. 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled, and local authorities were set at 30% both by 2005. The government, in its quest to reduce waste, for landfill diversion, and to assist local authorities in more recycling, has issued a “Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant”. Materials like batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electrical and electronics, vehicles, wood, clinical waste, building materials, and so on, have been listed as recyclable. To be up to date on any new entry in the targets, especially in recent years, visit the Norris Beaconsfield office at Beaconsfield.

Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
Skip hire pricing factors need to be well considered before hiring a skip. We understand all of these factors on skip hiring pricing at Norris Beaconsfield, and we have taken it upon ourselves to briefly help you understand as well. Regional Pricing – every region has its own skip hire cost. You may get a skip for £50 in London and get the same skip for £20 in Beaconsfield. Time duration on the hire is another factor that affects pricing, when you want to keep a skip for a long period of time, you’ll have to pay more. Keeping in mind there are time limits on skip hire permits too. Limitations and Restrictions – every skip can only take a certain amount of weight regardless of their size. Ask your skip hire service provider if they have restrictions on their skips. Ask if there are any items that aren’t allowed in the skip and stick to the restrictions if there are, so you won’t be sanctioned or fined.
Issues with renting skips in Beaconsfield
We know at Norris Beaconsfield that hiring the right skip can be exhausting- more so if it involves getting a skip hire permit. The following concerns may be attached to skip hiring in Beaconsfield: local council laws, double yellow lines, small gardens, narrow paths, congestion zones, limited front space, red routes, and pedestrian only lanes. We know that the population in Beaconsfield is increasing on a daily basis, meaning getting a space to place a skip will soon become more difficult. Our waste management services are readily available if you wish to skip the whole task of skip hiring.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
In 1994, another waste licensing system replaced the 1974 Control of Pollution Act for “controlled waste” regulation – deposit, recovery and removal. Controlled wastes are wastes from industrial, commercial, and household processes in solid or liquid form. However, people who are just disposing of waste from their personal garden were exempted from the need of the license. Proof of fitness to hold the license determines if it will be granted. Applications for new site ownership need to be accompanied by the Waste Management Training and Advisory Board (WAMITAB) certificate as proof of “technical competence”.
In section 34 of the act, the duty of care for all those who make, bring in, move, treat, store or remove controlled waste is available. It was stated in the Act that “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” There are also the special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005, that regulates how waste should be disposed of.
Skip Hire Permits
To place a skip for a construction project on any public land, you need a skip hire permit. Skip hire permits have to be obtained when you need to use land that isn’t your property to place your skip. Federal highways, streets, government roads, and land owned by any third party are those that require skip hire permits. A skip hire isn’t necessary when you have land to use and won’t be crossing into another person’s land or government owned land. Your skip could be removed and seized, however, if it extends into land that isn’t yours or that of those involved in your project, you even be fined. For as low as £20 you can get a skip hire permit – depending on the size of the skip and the council that is issuing the permit to you at the time. There are also skip hire permits for a lot more than £20, including £60, £80 and £100. Any questions you have on pricing can be answered at the local council office. At Norris Beaconsfield we feel duty bound to ensuring you hire a skip without stress. We also provide skip hire permit procurement along with skip delivery to make the whole process stress free. We include the cost of getting ski hire permits in our online quotes when you request them, which can be removed if you already have land or a place on which to put the skip. We provide skip hire services along with permits that last for up to 14 days. We are always available on 020 8698 8000 to provide you with details on skip hire and other waste disposal services we have.
Tested skips with certificate
If you’re hiring for the first time, you may have concerns on how safe and effective skips are when they are in use. At Norris Beaconsfield, we make sure you get the skip size you want, and make sure they are tested with certificates. Closed skip or open skip, we can deliver whichever you want with proof of its efficiency and quality. We can be reached as well on 020 8698 8000, and our experts will provide any details you need. You can also come by our Beaconsfield office instead and the tested skip you want will be provided with certificate.
At Norris Beaconsfield, a lot of different waste types are acceptable to be put in our skips. A few items, however, are not allowed in our skips. We can get these products from you and have them treated depending on how hazardous they are. The items we do not allow in our skips include automotive oils and fluids, medical waste, car tyres, heavy duty batteries, gas canisters, television sets, air conditioning units, refrigerators, aerosols, and fluorescent light bulbs.
Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
There are recycling targets put in place by the Environmental Agency and government. We recognize these recycling targets at Norris Beaconsfield and here they are: The goal of the Environmental Agency is to secure the protection and improvement of the environment in England and Wales. There are several government organisations and local authorities they work with to ensure that their targets are met, and other environmental services they have to offer get to areas where they are needed. This agency also works to regularly improve the quality of water, land and air. They implement steps that aim to control pollution in the environment, encouraging efforts towards preserving natural resources as well. It doesn’t stop at that! They also provide enlightenment for people on better waste control methods such as recycling household waste. The Environmental Agency can be contacted on 08708 506 506 or through their office in your locality, or their head office at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. With respect to Government Targets, a landfill directive was released. It specifies the targets needed to lower the quantity of waste removed to landfill areas in the UK. Inclusions were made for landfills to only take treated waste from 2007. Starting from the most recent year, these are the targets: The quantity of waste taken to landfill sites in the UK by 2015 should be 35% of what was taken in 1995. No more that 50% of the waste retrieved to use for landfill sites in the UK should be retrieved by 2013. The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used for landfills in the UK by 2010 shouldn’t exceed 75% of what was taken in 1995. Also added by the Waste Strategy 2000 were the following targets, to ensure 75% waste recovery and the achievement of the landfill directive, the following waste percentages have to be recovered: 67% in 2015, 45% in 2010 and 40% in 2005.
The government published, in the Waste Strategy 2000, the following natural recycling targets:
No less than 33% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2015. No less than 30% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2010. Household waste that is composted or recycled, in 2015, should be 25%, while the local authorities had a 30% target. The government released a ” Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” to assist in the recycling and reduction of waste and landfill diversions. Wood, vehicles, composting, clinical waste, building materials, batteries, paper, printer cartridges, plastic, furniture, glass, oil, metal, electricals and electronics, computers, and more are recyclable.
