Skip Hire sizes
Our skips are available for hire in different sizes. Whether you’re planning an office clearing or a home removal, we have the perfect skip size to meet your needs. - 4 Yard Skip Hire You can find a 4 yard skip for hire as well at Norris Wargrave. Its holding capacity is twice that of the 2 yard skip, and is just 0.90 meters in height. It has more space for bigger materials, including electronic appliances, kitchen and bathroom refits, and even furniture, because it has a longer width of 1.5m by 2.5m. It can take as many as 45 to 50 black waste bags, and a little over 17 full barrow loads of waste. It will fit well into your garden clearance, or do-it-yourself project plan.

Norris Location has 6 yard skips to move builders waste such as concrete, slabs and soil at your disposal. It’s perfect for stashing away heavy waste and bulky materials like soil or stones. Other Skip Hire Pricing Factors
When hiring a skip, some factors will be important and need to be thought about and considered properly. At Norris Wargrave, we understand these factors and will briefly explain them to you. Regional Pricing – hiring a skip will cost something different in different regions. A skip priced at £50 in London, for example, may be priced at £20 in Wargrave. The longer you need to hold on to a skip, the more expensive the skip will be, because pricing is affected by time as well. Remembering as well that skip hire permits have a time frame and expiry dates. Limitations and Restrictions – no matter the size of a skip, it will still have a weight limit. You have to find out if there are limitations from your skip hire service provider. Also, make enquiries about products that shouldn’t be put in it. Obey these restrictions to avoid any sanctions or fines.
Issues with renting skips in Wargrave
At Norris Wargrave, we understand that getting the perfect skip to hire can be a herculean task – especially with the difficulties that comes with getting a skip hire permit. The following concerns may be attached to skip hiring in Wargrave: local council laws, double yellow lines, small gardens, narrow paths, congestion zones, limited front space, red routes, and pedestrian only lanes. We are also aware of the increasing population in Wargrave, which will mean increased difficulty in skip hiring in the near future. Our waste management services are readily available if you wish to skip the whole task of skip hiring.
Skip Hire Rules and regulations
In 1994, another waste licensing system replaced the 1974 Control of Pollution Act for “controlled waste” regulation – deposit, recovery and removal. Liquid or solid waste from industrial, commercial, and household processes are called controlled wastes. If you only do personal garden waste removal, however, you do not require the license. To be granted the license, whoever is applying is required to confirm their ability to hold it. If an applicant wishes to own a new site, they have to show how “technically competent” they are by possessing the (WAMITAB) certificate, this is the the Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board.
People who create, bring in, convey, store, treat, or remove controlled waste were given a new duty of care in section 34 of the Act. The Act stated as follows: “any escape or waste must be avoided, waste can only be moved to an authorized person, the waste being transferred should go with a written description or you will be penalized.” Waste disposal regulation is handled by special waste regulations 1996 and the hazardous waste regulations 2005.
Skip Hire Permits
Do you want to hire a skip for a construction project that will involve placing it on public land? Then you will need a skip hire permit. Skip hire permits have to be obtained when you need to use land that isn’t your property to place your skip. It could be land that belongs to a third party, a federal highway, government road, or along the street. You can use your own land or space without a skip hire permit if you have it, only ensuring you don’t cross into land that isn’t yours. If you happen to cross into someone else’s land who isn’t a part of your project, or invade another person’s privacy with the skip, it could be seized or you could be fined. For as low as £20 you can get a skip hire permit – depending on the size of the skip and the council that is issuing the permit to you at the time. There are skip hire permits that may cost as much as £60, £80, and up to £100 sometimes. The council office is a good place to get all the pricing details you need. At Norris Wargrave we feel duty bound to ensuring you hire a skip without stress. You don’t need the hassle involved with getting a skip hire permit because we can get it for you as we deliver your choice of skip. When you request an online quote, we include the cost of getting a permit, which will not be necessary if you have land of your own to place the skip in. We can get skip hire services along with permits that have up to 14 day validity. Contact us today on 020 8698 8000 to find out more about skip hire permits and other services we have made available for you.

Recycling Targets/Landfill Policy
A number of targets for recycling were set by the Environmental Agency and government. We uphold these set recycling rules at Norris Wargrave and you can find them below: The Environmental Agency is on a mission to make sure the environment in England and Wales is improved and protected. Some government organisations and local authorities are tasked with the job of meeting their targets and making sure other environmental services available get to needed locations. The Environmental Agency also endeavors to make sure land, air and water are constantly improved in terms of quality. They implement efforts to control environmental pollution and further encourage the conservation of plants, animals and other natural resources. They don’t stop there either! The body works to educate the general populace on environmental issues to improve waste handling standards, by encouraging more recycling of waste in the household to cut down on overall waste quantity. You can contact the Environmental Agency office in your region, or visit the head office in Bristol at Rio House, Waterside Drive, Almondsbury BS32 4UD. Telephone: 08708 506 506. With respect to Government Targets, a landfill directive was released. It states that targets for lowering the quantity of waste taken to landfill spots in the United Kingdom. Inclusions were made for landfills to only take treated waste from 2007. Starting from the most recent year, these are the targets: In 2015, only 35% of the waste collected for filling UK landfill sites in 1995 should be collected. Only 50% of the waste taken in 1995 should be taken for landfill sites in the UK in 2013. The quantity of waste allowed to be taken and used for landfills in the UK by 2010 shouldn’t exceed 75% of what was taken in 1995. The Waste Strategy 2000 included the following targets, as a way of making sure waste is recovered and the landfill directive is reached: Of all the waste, 67% should be recovered in 2015, 45% of it recovered in 2010, and 40% of it recovered in 2005.
The government published, in the Waste Strategy 2000, the following natural recycling targets:
33% of household waste must be composted or recycled as of 2015. 30% of household waste must be composted or recycled as of 2010. No less than 25% of household waste should be composted or recycled in 2005, local authorities were set at 30% for the same year. To help the local authorities recycle more and reduce waste and for landfill diversions, a “Waste Performance and Efficiency Grant” was released by the government. The following materials can be recycled: wood, clinical waste, metal, building materials, batteries, paper, printer, cartridges, plastic, electricals and electronics, computers, composting, and various others.
